I looked at him as he stared at me with great disgust, “You rebellious girl, how dare you make your own decision on such a big matter as divorce?”
I calmly pinched my cheek with my jaw, trying to suppress the smell of blood, “I’m an orphan. I don’t need to discuss the divorce with anyone.”
My dad was slightly startled, and his eyes widened slightly because of my indifferent words.
After all, the last time he saw me, I was still a quiet person kneeling in front of him and his wife, begging to be loved and to be believed.

My mother was taken aback, “Orphan? Who… Who do you think we are?”
I replied, “Aren’t you Sophie’s parents? Oh, by the way, you should be happy that Mark and I divorced, because then your daughter can marry him. So, Mark will still be your son–in–law.”
As I spoke, I rolled my eyes at my parents‘ increasingly pale faces. “You’re welcome.” I even ended with a smile.
Panic flashed across my mother’s face. She frantically grabbed my arm and said, “Lily, what are you talking about? I’m your mother!”
However, my dad grabbed her arm with a cold face and said solemnly, “She’s right, she’s no longer our daughter, our daughter is Sophie.”
After that, he said to Mark, “Mark, after the papers are processed, you may marry Sophie. I will let everyone know that she is my daughter in Beapolis. There will be a grand ceremony!”
Mark looked at me, nodded, and said, “Lily, Sophie almost committed suicide when she went back last night. If I hadn’t discovered it in time, Tammy would have become an orphan. I will marry her, and we shall be a happy family of four. You will regret it.”
When he said these words, his gaze seemed as though he was searching for something on my
face.
When there was no response from me, I saw a hint of disappointment in his eyes.
He didn’t know what he was expecting. It was obvious that I had let him down.
Sophie, who was hiding in the dark, rushed over excitedly and hugged him. She finally spoke up, “Mark, I will spend my whole life loving you.
There was a bandage on her wrist, and I couldn’t help but look down at my wrist with the watch on it.
Under the strap, there were hideous and rough wounds.
However, they never found out.
I fumbled with my wrist and said calmly, “Sophie, are you proud?”
Sophie said aggrievedly, “Lily, please don’t blame us. The only thing to blame is your lack of repentance, which broke Mark’s heart and that led him towards me.”
I smiled and said, “How could I blame you? I’m glad someone is willing to pick up my trash.”
My response made everyone awkward.
1 continued, “To express my gratitude, I have prepared a big gift for you.”
