Ophelia…”
I paused in my steps before turning around.
It was a dark night, as usual. I saw Adrian standing under a streetlight with a case of beer in his hand. He got so emotional that his eyes reddened instantly when he saw me.
“Ophelia, it really is you!”
I almost forgot that Adrian could see me. I saw him standing where he was tentatively. He
was so scared that I might turn out to be his imagination once he blinked.

I just smiled before nodding at him.
A loud crash could be heard. The beer bottles fell to the ground, now reduced into broken shards. The cold beer was splashed all over Adrian’s pant legs.
He cried as he spread his arms, but all he could hug was air. Panic fleeted across his eyes as he remained rooted to the spot, clearly dumbstruck.
“Why, Ophelia? Why can’t I feel you?”
I just smiled at Adrian. I might not be able to speak, but he knew what I meant.
He mumbled, “Right… You’re already dead…”
After that, I followed Adrian back to his house. There was a stack of folders that contained the truth behind my and Mdm. Miranda’s deaths in his study.
Only then did I find out that Adrian had been investigating that car accident since my death. It turned out that Isabelle was the mastermind behind that accident.
Meanwhile, news of Isabelle and Dominic’s wedding was spread everywhere.
“If I’d known Dominic was this kind of bastard, I wouldn’t have given up on you back then. It’s fine. I’ll give them an unforgettable gift during their wedding day.”
All the public figures in the city showed up at Dominic and Isabelle’s wedding. Since Adrian didn’t have an invitation, it was only natural for him to be stopped at the door by a server.
Clad in a black tuxedo with a red flower pinned on his breast pocket, Dominic flashed Adrian an impassive glance. “Let him in.‘
Adrian just wore a mocking expression the whole time. He found himself a seat in a corner and sat down quietly.
This wedding was very grand and fancy. One could easily tell just how much money was used based on the details.
The newlyweds‘ wedding photos were displayed on the huge screen. They really looked
like a match made in heaven.
Adrian sat in front of me just to block my line of sight. “They’re just a pair of bastards. What’s there to look at? Ophelia, don’t let their faces taint your eyes.”
I nodded, opting to not look at the monitor anymore.
Soon, the wedding started. Dominic’s tall and well–built silhouette appeared on the stage. He kept staring at the entrance to the ballroom unblinkingly. His bride would be entering via that entrance soon.

Chapter 6
The scene that I had pictured countless times was finally happening in reality. It was just that… I wasn’t the main character in this scene.
It was time for the bride to make her appearance. Under everyone’s envious gazes, Isabelle slowly walked toward Dominic. Everyone could hear the host reading out the wedding
Vows.
I watched as the man, who once promised to marry me, focused his attention on another woman. This made my eyes burn up. Suddenly, I felt like running away from this place.
“Calm down, Ophelia. Everything will be over soon,” Adrian comforted me softly.
I was still confused by his words when I realized that Dominic never said the sacred “I do.”
Isabelle began urging him anxiously to speak up. However, all Dominic did was stare at her silently
“Dominic, hurry up and say ‘I do‘! Everyone’s watching us!”
It was then Dominic smiled mysteriously. He replied slowly, “I do… not.”
