Adrian Prince!” An enraged voice boomed loudly at that moment.
Dominic was stumbling toward Adrian and me with bloodshot eyes.
“Adrian, return Ophelia’s ashes to me! Please just give her back to me! I’m begging you!”
At the court, I only got to glance at Dominic. Now that he was right in front of me, I could see just how wretched he looked.
The dark circles under his eyes were obviously a by–product of the sleepless nights he had endured. His eyes were completely bloodshot at that point. In fact, he looked so pale that I thought he just got discharged from the hospital.
Dominic choked out, “Adrian, did you scatter Ophelia’s ashes into the sea? Did you abandon her?”
His expression was now stormy. Adrian threw a punch in Dominic’s direction while stating darkly, “You’re the one who abandoned her, Dominic Sharp! Didn’t you plan on marrying Isabelle? Didn’t you hate Ophelia? Why are you playing the part of a loving husband now?”
Dominic coughed up blood at that moment. He kept shaking his head in return. “I didn’t really want to marry Isabelle… I just wanted to piss Ophelia off…”
“You wanted to piss her off? Heh! The way you choose to piss others off is definitely unique, Mr. Sharp! To think that you’re willing to become a player of your own scheme by orchestrating a wedding just to piss your own wife off!
“Dominic Sharp, you’re so goddamn disgusting!”
Dominic didn’t have the energy to refute Adrian’s words. To be more precise, he couldn’t refute them at all. Adrian was speaking the truth, after all.
Although the wedding was staged as a part of Dominic’s revenge on Isabelle, it was true that he intended to piss me off by faking his marriage with Isabelle in the first place.
If I didn’t die in the car crash, I knew I’d definitely sob my heart out because of the wedding.
Dominic lay on the shore weakly while mumbling my name.
I gazed down at my soul, which was getting more and more transparent. All I felt was relief.
After that, Adrian punched Dominic twice in a row. Suddenly, he turned to look at me.

There was a hint of finality and acceptance in his eyes.
I smiled at Adrian. He returned the smile as well. This time, he actually let out an audible chuckle, which attracted Dominic’s attention.
Dominic followed Adrian’s line of sight, but he couldn’t see anything. Suddenly, he shoved Adrian off him before questioning anxiously, “Did you see Ophelia? Where is she? Adrian, hurry up and tell me where the hell she is!”
He kept looking around for me, but he couldn’t see anyone.
Adrian let out a dejected chuckle. “Yeah. I can see her. In fact, I’ve been able to see her since the day you came to my house to look for her. Haven’t you realized that she’s been following you all this time?”
Dominic was stunned, to say the least. He just gazed at Adrian in a state of befuddlement.
Adrian continued cruelly, “She attended your and Isabelle’s wedding too. She witnessed the way you had dropped her ashes. Dominic, Ophelia witnessed every single thing you did.
Dominic looked like he had just received a huge blow. Despair was palpable on his face.
“Where is she?”
Adrian just chortled. Then, he pointed at me..
“She’s right there, but she’s about to vanish completely. Dominic, you won’t be able to see her for the rest of your life.
“By the way, Ophelia wants me to pass you a message. She said she hates you and that she regrets getting to know you in the first place.”
Adrian shot me an apologetic look after that, seeing as I had never said such things before.
But I didn’t blame him. I knew that he was just trying to avenge me.
Instead, I just smiled before gazing at Adrian deeply. That look was a blessing meant for my best friend in life.
I hoped that Adrian could live out the rest of his life safely and without any problems.
Goodbye, Adrian.
The last thing I saw before vanishing was Dominic screaming my name while running into the sea. Adrian just sat on the shore. He didn’t plan on stopping Dominic, nor did he want to save him.
Just like that, my love–hate relationship with Dominic dissipated the moment Dominic
sank into the depths of the sea.
