Chapter 192 What Exactly Has She Been Through
The wound was indeed causing severe pain, so Olivia obediently laid down, allowing the doctor to examine her.
“The wound isn’t severe, but it’s bleeding and needs to be rebandaged,” the female doctor said as she opened the medical kit she carried with her and pulled out a bandage.
“Thank you,” Olivia said.
“Don’t mention it. I’m just doing my job,” the female doctor replied, casting a glance at her before dressing the wound efficiently.
Next, she took out a bottle of medicine and placed it on the bedside table. “Don’t let your wound get wet, and if it hurts, take a painkiller.”
Olivia nodded. “Alright.”
“Okay then, I’m leaving.” The doctor nodded at Olivia before turning around and walking away.
Ethan, who was waiting outside, saw the doctor emerge and immediately asked, “How is she?”
“It’s a knife wound, but it’s not too deep. She should recover with around ten days of rest. It’s nothing serious,” answered the doctor candidly.
“Knife wound?” Ethan furrowed his brows in thought, sensing that there was more to the matter than met the eye. He then said to the doctor, “Alright, I understand. However, I must ask you to keep this matter confidential.”
The doctor nodded. “Sure.”
After seeing the doctor out, Ethan hurried back upstairs to Nathan’s room.
“Mr. Carter, it was a knife wound,” he reported to Nathan with a serious expression.
Nathan instantly furrowed his brows. “A knife wound?”
How on earth did she end up getting stabbed out of nowhere?
Suddenly, Nathan remembered the man in black who had picked her up from the airport that morning.
The man was evidently dangerous and far from ordinary.
With this in mind, Nathan’s eyes narrowed viciously. Ever since she returned to her homeland, he could distinctly sense a change in her.
Aside from no longer being as compliant as before, there were times when he couldn’t read her.
She is just a woman. Who has she offended or what had she done to deserve being stabbed? What on earth is going on?
He yanked off his tie in frustration, his face exuding a frosty aura, while his eyes had an indiscernible look in them.
What exactly did she go through abroad all these years?
This feeling of uncertainty and lack of control only served to agitate him further.
Sensing the icy aura emanating from Nathan, Ethan couldn’t help but think that only Olivia could stir such emotional turmoil in the former.
“Ethan.” Nathan finally spoke.
“Mr. Carter, is there anything you need?” Ethan hurried forward, respectfully bowing his head.
“Find out what she did, who she met, and how she got hurt after arriving in Attlewich today. I want every single detail!”
“Ill have someone look into it right away.”

“Wait.” Nathan called out to him.
Ethan turned around, asking. “Is there anything else?”

Nathan’s eyes narrowed slightly as he spoke in a casual tone. “Have the hotel send some food to Liam and his mother.”
“Alright.” Upon receiving his orders, Ethan hastily took his leave.
In the room, only Nathan remained. He sat on the couch, his expression gloomy. No matter what, he was determined to unravel the mystery that shrouded Olivia.
At seven in the evening, Emily and Emma came over together and knocked on the door.
“As we’re the hosts, it would be rude if we didn’t go over earlier to welcome the guests,” said Emily.
Nathan didn’t say a word. After changing into a fresh set of clothes, he joined them and descended the stairs.
Meanwhile, Olivia had rebandaged her wound and, due to exhaustion, fell asleep immediately.
She was roused from her slumber by the sound of the doorbell. Upon awakening, she found Liam fast asleep beside her. Her eyes softened at the sight.
After gently pulling the blanket over him, she then got out of bed to open the door.
It was room service.
A hotel attendant politely nodded at her, saying, “Mr. Carter ordered this meal for you.”
With a slight lift of her eyebrows, Olivia didn’t decline despite knowing who had arranged it. She simply said in an indifferent tone, “Thank you.”
After the hotel staff was gone, she glanced at the time and realized that she had surprisingly slept for nearly two hours. The cocktail party should have started by now.
However, she didn’t want to go that early. After all, she was only going to make an appearance, so there was no need to be there ahead of time.
