The middle–aged man in front of me nodded and bowed, sweating all over. His white shirt was yellow from sweat stains. It was clear how tired he was judging by his face.
Under the tired face, he hid a humble heart. When he looked up and saw me, Trevor was stunned. I smiled.
“No, thank you,” said Jackson curtly. He rolled up the flyer, then held my hand and walked
away.
Trevor was stunned when he saw me. He shouted, “Jessica!”
Surprised, Jackson was about to turn when I pulled him away.
“Do you know him?”
“Yes. He’s a former colleague. He made a mistake in his middle age and was fired by the company. He’s under great pressure now, and the employment environment isn’t that favorable. He can’t find a good job.”
Jackson understood that well. “That’s right. It seems that he’s just a lazy person. Otherwise, if he had real skills, he wouldn’t need to do this kind of work.”
I nodded. Trevor’s work ability was never strong. Otherwise, he would not have wasted so many years in the position as a supervisor.

After being fired, he became infamous in the industry. No company wanted to hire him at all. Not to mention the things happening at home. His aunt Laura was desperate. She even asked him to do live broadcasting with her for a while. Who would want to watch their bloody drama? Trevor went from bad to worse, which was why he ended up in such a sorry state with a sorrier job.
I looked down on him, but I also warned myself that I might end up like him. I must move forward step by step cautiously, keeping my feet on the ground so that I would be invincible.
