The Goodridge family had shifted their hopes of finding Waverly onto Raylee.
Harriet took the initiative by playing the sympathy card with Raylee.
Right after ending her call with Casimir, Raylee received another call, this time from Harriet.
“Ray–Ray, I beg you… Could you please take the eighteen years of our mother–daughter relationship into consideration and save Waverly?” she pleaded.
“Yeah.”
“Really? Ray–Ray, are you truly willing to help Waverly? On behalf of my entire family, I thank you.”
“Okay.”
“By the way, Ray–Ray, aside from helping Waverly out, your father has another favor to ask of you. He hopes you can act as a go–between to facilitate a collaboration between him and Mr. Foucault.”

Raylee immediately ended the call.
One after another, they kept coming, hoping that she would dedicate herself to Leonardo for their benefit.

Alaric couldn’t stop hurling abuse under his breath.
Samuel said with a serious expression, “Even if we manage to get in touch with her, what good would it do? She has always despised Waverly, wishing nothing but the worst for her. How could she possibly have Mr. Foucault save her? In my opinion, we should consider other alternatives!”
“I’ve tried every possible solution, but those people are avoiding me like I’m some sort of plague! And then there’s Casimir. One moment he says he’s busy, and the next he says he’s trying to figure something out. I’m starting to suspect he’s avoiding me too! Couples are supposed to stick together, yet when disaster strikes, they often abandon each other and go their separate ways. This young man better not be thinking of abandoning my daughter in this crucial moment!” Alaric said, clearly frustrated.
Visibly upset, Samuel declared, “I’ll make him pay if he dares to do that!”
“Forget about that, Samuel. I need you to help me spread a message. Tell everyone I’m willing to pay anyone any amount as long as they can rescue Waverly, even if they have to resort to questionable or illegal methods.”
“Any amount? Dad, what if someone demands an exorbitant amount?”
“We’ll just stall for time by misleading whoever rescues Waverly. We can worry about keeping our promises
