Alina, who was still within hearing distance, couldn’t contain her surprise. “You didn’t get the script?”
Quiana gave her a sidelong glance. “I thought you were handling it.
Alina’s face darkened, and for a moment, she was at a loss for words. Then, she blurted out a curse, a rare lapse for the usually composed agent.
Evelyn was shocked. Scripts were typically distributed well in advance for actors to prepare. Even with Quiana’s late entry and the unforeseen issues, she should have received her script by then. “How did this slip by us!”
Alina’s face tamed grim as she realized the oversight. “I followed up yesterday, and they said they’d pass the script on to you directly. I was preoccupied with legal documents last night and forgot to confirm
Both had assumed the script had been handed over, but now, with Quiana’s first scene imminent, they found themselves in a frantic search for it. It was a close call indeed.
