Deep into the night.
Marcus leaned against the black leather chair. His eyes were slightly closed, and his brows were tightly furrowed. Marcus tapped on the table with his fingers, spreading a terrifying aura.
On the opposite side of the desk, a man dressed in black was standing there. He could not stand the suffocating aura anymore, and his body trembled slightly.
Marcus suddenly opened his eyes, and his sharp gaze shot out like a knife. “It’s been two days. Is there a result?” His voice was extremely cold.
The man in black fell to his knees and kept knocking his head on the floor. “Mr. Gallegos, please forgive me. The person is a professional killer. I will find a way to let him talk as soon as possible. Please give me another chance.”
“You are so useless. You are wasting my time,” Marcus said mercilessly.
“Return the token and go back to have a retraining,” Marcus said calmly.
With his trembling hand, the man in black took out a deep red token, which was engraved with a golden word, “Dark“. “Thank you for not killing me, Mr. Gallegos.”
Jalen stepped forward and took the token.
“Let’s go to meet the guy,” Marcus said as he stood up.
On the bookshelf, there was a jade lion. Marcus stretched out his hand and placed it on the lion’s eye. A red light shot out. Marcus‘ fingerprint was identified.
The lion slowly rotated. Then, the intact red carved wooden bookshelf split into two.
A dark passageway paved with jade gradually appeared before Marcus.
Marcus stepped forward, and Jalen followed closely behind.
As soon as Marcus walked into the tunnel, the candles on the wall were automatically lit up. Specks of light lit illuminated the road beneath Marcus‘ feet.

The dark passage was very long and quiet. For a moment, there were only Marcus‘ and Jalen’s footsteps. It sounded horrifying. After walking for five minutes, Marcus pushed open the door.
A heart–wrenching scream sounded. “Kill me. Kill me.”
Inside the door was an exceptionally spacious room. In the middle of the room was a large furnace that emitted thick heat. But the entire room was still filled with coldness and gloom.
Behind the furnace, there was a large iron cross. A bloody man, with his eyes covered, was tied tightly to it.
The thick ropes had been deeply embedded into the man’s limbs. He was bleeding all the time.
His body, which had just been roasted by the hot iron, gave off a burnt smell.
Seeing Marcus enter, everyone stopped and bowed. “Mr. Gallegos.”
Marcus waved his hand, letting everyone get up.
Step by step, Marcus walked to the only sofa in the room like a leopard. He sat down leisurely, placed his left leg on his right leg, and asked indifferently, “Has he confessed?”
“Not yet, Mr. Gallegos.”

Marcus frowned in dissatisfaction. People didn’t even dare to breathe heavily.
The man tied to the cross noticed someone had come in. He shouted, “Kill me! Do you dare to kill me?”
Marcus raised his eyes. Jalen understood his meaning, walked up to the bloody man, and took the black cloth off his eyes.
Marcus licked his lips murderously and looked at his hand lightly. “Death is too easy for you.
“Of course, if you are willing to tell me who is at your back, I can consider…” Marcus paused for a second and then continued, “not killing your family.”
“No, I don’t have a family.” The man’s eyes, which were originally filled with desperation, suddenly burst with a trace of fear.
The man thought that he hid his family very well. He had been a killer for so many years, b
“Really?” Marcus raised a smile. “You have a very cute little boy. He should be five years old.”
Jalen took out a stack of photos and threw them at the man’s feet.
no one knew that he had a child.
In the photos, a smiling woman was hugging a boy about five years old, and they were having fun under the sunlight.
The man’s body suddenly became tense. His eyes were open so wide that they almost popped out.
“If this poor child knew that his father was a killer and killed his mother, would he hate you?” Marcus‘ voice sounded playful.
“How dare you! I will kill you!” The man struggled hard. The chains collided and made loud sounds.
As if he had heard a funny joke, Marcus chuckled.
He stood up, walked to the man, and lifted the man’s chin to force the man to look into his eyes. The viciousness in Marcus‘ eyes was very clear. “I don’t have time to play the game with you. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have a choice.”
Marcus let go
of the man’s chin, took the handkerchief that Jalen handed over, and slowly wiped his fingertips. “I’ll give you a minute to think about it. Otherwise, you will see your wife’s body first.”
The man screamed and struggled crazily. The chains sank deeper into his flesh, and blood spurted out.
“Marcus, you will be in hell.” The man gritted his teeth and glared at Marcus.
“You still have thirty seconds,” Marcus said casually as he wiped his fingers. He tossed the handkerchief aside, turned around, and sat back on the sofa.
Blood splashed onto the ground drop by drop.
“Kii! the man!” Marcus” cold and deep voice sounded.
Jalen took out his phone.

“Wait! I’ll tell you!” the man suddenly raised his head and shouted excitedly.
Jalen took a look at Marcus and put away his phone.
“It’s Terry.” The man gave up struggling.
Murderousness flashed through Marcus‘ eyes, but he returned to normal very soon. Marcus thought, “It’s time to kill Terry.” “Terry contacted me and told me to wait for the right time to kidnap Charlotte. He asked me to attack you when you came to rescue Charlotte.
“That day, I received a call from Terry. He said that Charlotte went out suddenly and that she was alone. It was a good time to make a move. I ambushed her on the road she had to pass and kidnapped her
“But unexpectedly, I ran into you.
“During the fight, I found myself no match for you. I could only throw Charlotte into the river to protect myself.
“I didn’t expect you to jump down to save her.”
The man’s voice was suddenly mixed with a hint of schadenfreude. “I was wondering why Terry asked me to kidnap Charlotte. You were the one who he wanted to kill.
“The moment you jumped into the water to save her, I knew why.
“It turns out that you, Mr. Gallegos, who is always ruthless, have a soft spot!”
The man laughed wildly.
Jalen looked at Marcus in surprise. He was given other orders by Marcus that day and wasn’t with Marcus.
Jalen was surprised that Marcus jumped into the river for Charlotte.
Marcus pressed his lips.
That day when he had just saved Charlotte, Terry appeared. It turned out that it was really Terry who set up the trap.
“Where is the evidence of the deal?” Marcus‘ bland voice was mixed with frightening power.
The man paused for a second and then said, “The USB drive that stores the recording is hidden in my son’s red toy car.”
“You can die now,” Marcus said indifferently.
“My wife and child…” The man desperately wanted Marcus‘ answer.
“They will be safe,” Marcus said firmly.
The man slowly closed his eyes, waiting for his end.
The gun was fired.
The silencer made the sound muffled.
The man’s whole body became limp. He died.
The darkness in Marcus‘ eyes grew thicker and thicker.
