Chapter 34 Celia Gets Kidnapped
Ernie was startled and quickly checked on Hugo’s hand. “What did the glass do to you?”
There were a few bloody slits on Hugo’s hand, and Ernie was relieved to find that none of them had glass fragments embedded in them. Later, the attendant came over to clean up and brought bandages for Hugo’s injuries.
Hugo let his buddy tend to his injuries while he acted like nothing had happened. However, he had a gloomy expression.
“Did the glass offend you?” Ernic asked with a glare.
“The woman sitting at the table in front of us just now. She’s Jeremy’s biological mother, Hugo spoke depressingly.
Ernie quickly turned his head to look. “Where is she?”
“Gone.”
If he remembered correctly, a couple was sitting at that table earlier. Then, he immediately understood that his friend had vented his anger on the glass because he was angry at the woman. “Didn’t you divorce her? Why do you still care about her?” he asked.
“You’re right. Why should I care who she’s dating?” Hugo pushed his tongue against his cheek, seeming to be persuading himself.
“Now that she has a new boyfriend, you should find a woman that treats Jeremy nicely and get on with your life.” Ernie persuaded him again.
Hugo sighed. “You’re right. There are lots of women in this world.”
“Would
you like me to introduce you to one?” Ernie offered to help.
“No. A young woman previously saved Jeremy when he was nearly kidnapped from the museum last time. He likes her a lot, so maybe I can consider her.” Hugo’s priority when choosing a woman was that she had to be good to his son. As long as his son liked her, he would persuade himself to do the same.
“You can give it a try. Perhaps you might fall in love with her.” Ernie smiled.
Yes, I must prove that Celia is not the only woman my body wants, Hugo thought.
Meanwhile, Celia and Bryce got in his car because she wanted to head home. On the way, she took off the necklace he gave her. She accepted the gift only to get back at that scumbag, so now, she had decided to return it.
When they arrived at her house, she placed the necklace in the center console before she left the car, explaining. “I’m returning the necklace to you. It’s too valuable. I can’t accept it.”

Chapter 34 Celia Gets Kidnapped

another park trail, and he could not enter the park. Moreover, he could not force her to accept his gift, so he had no choice but to give up.
However, Celia had no idea that a man was swiftly trailing her from behind. He had kept a distance from her but ensured he would not lose her. At the same time, he was talking to someone on the phone, “Drive over. I know a place where we can easily get her.”
She was oblivious to the incoming danger as she was preoccupied with Hugo. Why did the universe keep sending that hateful b’stard to me? Why didn’t they just kill him?
Meanwhile, a black sedan was waiting outside her residential area. Two men were sitting inside, waiting to complete their task–kidnapping Celia and forcing her to give them her equity
agreement.
Back at the restaurant, Hugo had parted with his friend for over ten minutes but suddenly felt anxious. It was still early for him to pick up Jeremy, and he did not feel like returning to the company either. So, he drove aimlessly, circling the city center.
Suddenly, he remembered the address Mathias had given him–Celia’s residence. Then, his mind seemed to have short–circuited, urging him to check on her. As for what he would do once he got there, he did not think about it and merely followed his feelings.

car sped toward the residential area. Since it was an excellent performing sports car, it flew on the road like a wild horse, attracting attention from everyone.
Meanwhile, Celia ran toward the park to escape from Bryce and headed to a nearby grocery store to buy some essentials.
While leisurely strolling on the almost empty road, she suddenly felt someone following her and turned around, after which she saw a man about thirty feet behind her. Right when she checked, that man quickly walked away in another direction.
Celia immediately felt wary and was ready to retreat. She quickly walked onto another street, but just as she turned the corner, a black sedan suddenly stopped before her. Then, the back door flung open a masked man jumped out!

Before she could register the situation, that man tried to tug her, from which she frantically retreated. At that moment, another man ambushed her from beside the door and grabbed her
arm.
“What are you doing? Let go of me.” She struggled hard upon sensing danger, but another man exited from the passenger seat and shoved her into the car.
In the meantime, a black Bugatti approached them from behind. The driver seemed a little confused because he was focused on his surroundings. Then, he noticed the situation near the sedan in front of him.
He saw a young woman kicking and flinging her arms, seemingly coerced into the car.
While Celia was struggling, her bag fell to the ground. Her body was already pulled into the car,

Hugo keenly noticed the bag on the floor and stomped on the brakes before quickly getting out of the car to pick it up. The bag seemed so familiar that he felt his heart skip a beat. It reminded him of Celia’s bag.
Damn it. Did she just get kidnapped?

He immediately returned to his vehicle, and his sports car seemed to have shot off the chasing after the almost disappearing sedan.
Inside the sedan, Celia was suppressed in the middle seat while a man used tape to bind her hands and legs. No matter how much she screamed, the ear–deafening music inside the car hindered people on the outside from hearing her call for help.
“Who are you people…” just as she was about to ask that question, the man scaled her lips with the tape. Then, they ignored her, no matter how hard she struggled. Instead, they were focused on the road, obviously bringing her somewhere..
That thought made her anxious and frightened as she wondered who would want to kidnap her and if she had offended anyone. Soon, she comprehended who it might be. Is it Pansy? Did she send someone to kidnap me? Is it because of the equity agreement? Besides her, I can’t think of anyone else who would want me harmed.
On the other hand, the men in the sedan merely wanted to bring Celia to the agreed destination as soon as possible, so they did not notice a black sports car following them.
The man inside the Bugatti wore a tense expression. His sharp eyes were locked on the black sedan while exuding an icy aura. Hugo had already contacted his bodyguards, who would catch up with him to save Celia. No matter what, he could not let anything happen to that woman.
