Willard raised an eyebrow. “Someone had cut in the line before me?”
Davina responded with a sly smile and sent over an emoji.
Then she set her phone down, freshened up, and headed downstairs.
Sacha had already arrived and was overseeing the house staff as they moved things around.

“Oh, you’re awake already?” Sacha asked, beaming
Davina offered a warm smile and said, “Morning, Sacha.”
Seeing Davina in the cute pajamas she had picked out for her, Sacha’s face lit up like sunshine after the rain.
She didn’t have children of her own, but ever since she began treating Davina like a daughter, it felt like she’d discovered a whole new part of life.
And with Davina’s looks? Everything she wore just seemed to suit her.
Every time Sacha went out and saw beautiful clothes or accessories, she couldn’t help but buy them–imagining how stunning Davina would look made her feel more accomplished than signing a million–dollar contract.
“I brought some decorations I thought young women would like. Hope I didn’t wake you?”
Davina shook her head with a soft laugh. “Not at all.”
“I heard you cleared out a piece of the backyard to grow medicinal herbs. Is the space enough? If not, we can just buy the property next door,” Sacha offered, half–serious.
Davina coughed lightly. “No need–it’s more than enough”
This house had a huge backyard, which was what she loved most about it. Behind the property, the land stretched into the hillside, with no neighbors in sight.
It was the perfect environment to grow her herbs in peace.
“Well, if it ever gets too cramped, just let me know. And if you need any help, I can bring in a few top students from the medical or agricultural schools.”
Davina smiled politely but declined the nice offer.
She already had someone else in mind.
Since Sacha had arrived early, they ended up having breakfast together.
“My mom’s been doing so much better lately,” Sacha said. “She’s been following the rehab routine you suggested–gets some gentle movement in every day. Without the illness holding her down, she’s been sleeping like a baby. She always asks about you Says she hopes to thank you properly someday. Honestly, I still can’t believe how fast she’s recovered.
It was true–just weeks ago, Grace could barely get out of bed, and now she was practically back on her feet. It felt like a
miracle.
Just months ago, the idea would’ve seemed impossible.
Word had spread. People in their social circle had started whiut a miracle doctor from the Barlows, and now everyone wanted to know who she was.
