“Your family has truly broadened my horizons!”
“This is all just a misunderstanding! I never meant to target Veya. After all, she’s still my stepsister. We’re family!” Lila said, awkwardly linking her arm with mine.
Kael quickly chimed in,
“Yes, yes, let’s not let a little misunderstanding ruin this. We have so many people watching, so let’s proceed with the signing ceremony!”
“Signing?” Chris scoffed, his tone dripping with mockery.

“People like
you think you’re worthy of signing with me?”
Kael’s face twisted in disbelief.
“What… what do you mean by that?” he asked, his voice shaking.
Chris’s expression was calm but resolute as he spoke.
“Did you not understand me? Galaxy Group agreed to this collaboration because of Veya. But since the design company no longer belongs to her, we have no reason to continue this
partnership. So, be prepared for bankruptcy.”
Kael’s face turned bright red with rage.
“Chris, don’t think just because you’re the CEO of Galaxy Group, you’re invincible! We have other partners besides you!”
I couldn’t help but laugh coldly.
“Really? Why don’t you call your so–called partners and see who’s still willing to work with you?”
As if on cue, Kael’s phone rang. It was his secretary.
“Our suppliers are all unreachable!” The secretary said in a panic.
“There are projects waiting to start, but we don’t have any materials!”
Kael’s expression darkened as he barked into the phone,
“Offer double the price! I refuse to believe they don’t want to make money!”
The secretary, almost in tears, replied,
“We’ve already tried, but no one will sell to us. All the suppliers have switched to working with Galaxy Group! Now we’re facing massive breach–of–contract penalties and huge losses.”
“The company… is bankrupt!”
Before Kael could respond, the hotel doors burst open, and a crowd of employees and contractors stormed in–demanding unpaid wages and penalties. The scene quickly descended into chaos.
Kael, Lila, and Noah were visibly shaken for the first time.
Kael turned to me, his face contorted with rage, and roared,
“Veya, this is your doing, isn’t it? I knew you wouldn’t be kind enough to just hand the company back to me! You’re a vicious woman!”
I looked at him and couldn’t help but laugh.
“When I gave the company back to you, it had just gone public. How did you manage to

bankrupt a publicly traded company in just one month?
Over the years, while you were faking your death and living lavishly on hidden assets, if you had put in even an ounce of effort, you wouldn’t be in this mess now,”
Kael clenched his teeth, seething with hatred,
“Veya, don’t think so highly of you just because you’ve latched onto an Alpha CEO! He’s only playing along to humor you. He’ll dump you sooner or later!”
Slap!
Chris struck Kael hard across the face, his voice thundering with rage.
“Veya doesn’t need to rely on anyone. She’s always relied on herself! She’s the true owner behind Galaxy Group!”
