Chapter 18
Suzanne took a deep breath, suppressing the anger simmering inside her before she said calmly, “I’ll write down everything you need to pay attention to You must follow these instructions exactly as written”
Her gaze landed on a notebook sitting on the table, She grabbed a pen from the holder and began writing quickly.
Ten minutes later, Suzanne handed the paper filled with detailed instructions to Leslie. It was obvious that the list was directed specifically at her. Leslie’s expression stiffened as she took the paper in her hands. For the first time, she realized how out of line her earlier words had been. Most people would have stormed out in anger by now, but Suzanne hadn’t let her temper get the better of her. She had stayed to ensure Alan’s treatment continued.
Leslie looked at her and apologized, “I’m sorry for what I said earlier.”
Richard glanced at Alan, who was still sound asleep. He let out a sigh of relief after seeing that his son seemed stable.
He stepped closer to Suzanne, his face softening into a faint smile. “Dr. Smich, we owe you so much. We’ll be more careful moving forward. My wife was just panicking earlier. Please don’t take her words to heart.”
Suzanne glanced at Alan one last time to confirm that his condition had stabilized. With a small nod, she replied, “Alright. I’ll be leaving now.”
She packed up her things and headed for the door. She still needed to find the perfect gift.
The visit to the Hall residence was approaching, and she was no closer to deciding what to bring
Richard and Leslie hurried to follow her. Just as Suzanne reached the door, she stopped abruptly and turned back to the group. In a calm yet finn voice, she said, “The treatment will take some time before Alan fully recovers. For now, keep this matter private”
Richard and Leste nodded quickly. “You can count on us. We won’t tell anyone,” they assured her
Suzanne wondered if that was truly so. She recalled Seline’s call earlier and couldn’t help but smirk faintly.
She added coolly, “Your current household staff members have quite big mouths. I’d recommend replacing them.”
Without waiting for a response, Suzanne turned and left.
Richard and Leslie exchanged uneasy glances, their expressions darkening, Turning to Joe, Richard ordered firmly, “Joe, take care of it.”
Richard’s eyes narrowed as he looked out at the chaos beyond the door. His pe hardened, his expression icy
If someone thought they could stir trouble in his home, they were gravely mistaken
The sun was shining brightly the next day. It was July, and the summer heat had begun to settle in.
Suzanne had been walking around a mall for over an hour, searching for the perfect gift. However, she didn’t find anything that felt right. That was until astanning emerald bracelet caught her eye. Its quality and craftsmanship seemed exceptional.
Slowly, she approached the counter where it was displayed. The sales associate immediately greeted her with a bright smile, “Hello! Is there a specific place you’re interested in? Would you like to try something on?”
Suzanne pointed toward the bracelet. “May I take a look at this one!
The sales associate followed her gesture and lit up. This bracelet wasn’t cheap, and if Suzanne decided to buy it, she would warm a high commission. Her smile widened even further. “Of course One moment, please”
Suzanne took the bracelet and slowly examined it. Her gaze sharpened. Something about it had caught her attention.
