Chapter 20
With so many people watching, Seline couldn’t afford to lose her temper no matter how much she wanted to
Christine, however, had no such restraint. Her expression darkened as she stepped forward, painting at Suzanne angrily, “Suzanne, how shameless can you be? What gives you the right to compete with Seline?!
Seline felt a wave of satisfaction, but she kept her face composed. Instead, she tugged gently on Christine’s sleeve, her expression full of feigned hurt. Christine, don’t be like this. She didn’t mean any harm.”
Her attempt to calm Christine only seemed to fool the fire, and Christine’s voice rose even louder. “Didn’t mean barn? I’d say she did it on purpose. It’s disgusting!”
The coordinated performance between the two made Suzanne’s asment grow. She found herself enjoying Seline’s need to always come out on top
Without hesitation, Suzanne landed the bracelet to the sales associate and said calmly, “I’ll take this one. Wrap it up for me
Seline glared at her coldly. This bitch was deliberately guing against her.
With the growing crowd of onlookers, Seline couldn’t let Suzanne walk away with the bracelet. That would be utterly humaring
As the sales associate reached for the bracelet, Seline tamed to Suzanne, her tone dripping with false concern. “Sue, why are you doing this? You don’t oven have the money to buy it.”
She paused for effect, glancing at the curious onlookers before continuing in a hesitant tone as though she was too reluctant to speak, “You’ve spent all your allowance on gifts for your boyfriends. There’s no way you have anything left now.”
The murmurs in the crowd grew louder as curious glances turned to Suzanne. They wondered just how many boyfriends she had
Christine stepped forward, her tone dripping with disdain. “I heard that she was dating several guys at once back in college. She’d buy them bury gifts. and even dipped into her father’s money to keep them happy.”
The crowd buzzed with possip
“She looks so refined and innocent. I never thought she’d do something like that, ”
“Never judge a book by its cover. The prettier the girl, the wilder she is.”
“Using her parents‘ hard–earned money to spoil men? That’s disgusting!”
The onlookers began to criticize Suzanne.
Seline felt a surge of satisfaction, Christine was playing her role perfectly
She gleefully thought, “Suzanne, how does it boel to be crushed under my
She balled her lists, barely able to contain the excitement swelling in her chest.
Suzanne, however, remained unfazed. Her heart turned cold at the absurdity of the accusations. She had never received an allowance, so how could she have spent money frivolously? Besides, she had never dated several guys at once. The sheer audacity of the lies amused her.
If they wanted to fabricate stories, so be. She’d make sure they regretted it.
Christine, emboldened by the crowd’s reaction, couldn’t hide the smug look spreading across her face. Suzanne had always carried herself with such high regard. Now, Christine was determined to drag her down from her pedestal.
She turned to the sales associate and said, “Don’t waste your time on her. No matter how nice you are, she can’t afford anything here.”
Christine added with a derisive laugh, “Who knows what she has touched? You might want to disinfect that bracelet before anyone else gets sick
The sales associate hesitated, and her attitude shifted immediately. She placed the bracelet on the counter, grabbed a polishing cloth, and wiped it meticulously. Her gaze toward Suzanne turned frosty as she muttered, “Why waste my time if you can’t pay?”
With a sharp turn, she handed it to Selline, her face lighting up with a smile. “Here you go, ma’am. Your bracelet.”
The drastic shift in attitude was striking
Suzanne’s amusement deepened. Let them dig their own graves. She wanted the outcome to be is outrageous as it could be. Without missing a beat, Suzanne pulled out her wallet and retrieved her card. She urged, “I’m buying this. Take my card right now.
