Chapter 29
Marvin’s son’s developmental defect was an issue related to his growth.
Suzanne pondered over this for a moment before she softly said, “It is indeed quite a tricky case.”
Marvin felt his hope diminish. He seemed to lose all strength in his body as he slumped over. “Ah, I knew it This is my karmic retribution!”
When she saw his dejected state, Suzanne trowned slightly and reassured him, “It’s tricky, but it’s not incurable Why are you giving up so easily?”
Marvin didn’t ever let her finish her words when be immediately straightened up. His eyes brimmed with hope as he looked at Suzanne, excitedly asking, “D–Dr. Smith, are you serious?”
Suzanne nodded and continued, “The treatment process will be difficult, slow, and very painful for him, both physically and mentally. You should check with him. If he’s willing to endure the suffering and pain, I can cure him.”
Her words were softly spoken, but they were full of affination.
Marvin suddenly stood up and approached Suzanne. He gripped her arm with an excited expression as he babbled incoherently, “As long as you can cure him, I’ll promise you anything you want! Even if you want my Life!”
The years of seeking medical help for his son had taken all of Marvin’s effort, but nothing had worked
He only had one child, and it his son’s constitution could be cured, the Guerra family would be able to have an heir!
Suzanne frowned as she felt the grip on her arm. It hurt…
Shame quickly stepped forward and pulled the excited Marvin away while laughing to try to ease the tension. “Why would we want your life! Mr. Guerra, you’re being too dramatic. ”
Suzanne sighed in rellet when her wrist was finally freed.
As for the compensation, Shane would handle it, so she didn’t need to concem herself with such matters,
She stood up, looked at Slane and Marvin, and softly said, “You two continue chatting. I’ll head to the washroom
She had settled yet another successful request.
As Suzanne looked at her delicate features in the mirror, a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. She was in quite a good mood,
However, when she reached the door of the washroom, she caught sight of a familiar figure, and she abruptly stopped in her tracki.
The man wore a black–and–white athletic outfit and stood call at nearly six feet. Even when he wore a mask, it didn’t make him any less handsome. Years of acquaintance and countless photos she had once stared at allowed her to recognize him with just one glance–Jenson.
Suzanne felt her good mood vanish in an instant.
There was a time when she would’ve been thrilled to see him every day, but ever since she decided she no longer wanted to see him, she seemed to bump into him almost every other day. Was this some kind of punishment for her?
Simultaneously, Jenson noticed Suzanne as well. She was dressed casually, but she stood out strikingly. After not seeing her for a while, she had become more poised and graceful. There was even a hint of allure and sexiness to her, which made it harder to look away.
This women… She was getting more beautiful.
But why was she here in such a place out of the blue? Could it be that she heard about his whereabouts and followed him bere?
Jenson sneered sarcastically, and his eyes were filled with disdain, Suzanne had said she was done with him, but her every action seemed to be a subtle play of “push–and–pull“, Did she really think he couldn’t see through her tricks?
Just as he was about to leave, he saw Suzanne more even faster than him as she walked toward the ext
She had no intention of ralking to him, let alone spare him another glance
Jenson frowned and approached her, blocking her path. In a displeased tone, he questioned, “Why did you follow me here? Don’t you know my status doesn’t allow for this? You still don’t know your place!”
The more she clung to him like this, the more repulsed he felt
Suzanne instinctively took two steps back to avoid any contact with him. She looked up and fixed her gaze on Jenson. She gave him a cold sneer as she retorted, “You’re delusional!”
It did make sense, though. Wasn’t he delusional because she had indulged him?
In the past, she clung to him whenever he went. She always wanted to keep him in her grasp and was afraid he would slip away. But the truth was, some things couldn’t be held onto just by tightening your grip on it,
