Chapter 39
Even Suzanne instinctively shuddered. She looked at Austin in confusion, but his gaze was even colder than before
Did she say something wrong?
The next moment, the car’s speed suddenly increased. Austin’s icy voice cut through the silence. “As expected of Jane Smith.”
The legendary Jane was known for being indifferent and emotionally detached.
Suzanne was once again stunned. “What? What’s wrong?“”
Austin’s expression remained frosty, and he didn’t reply. Just then, her phone cang, breaking the tense atmosphere in the car.
Suzanne took out her phone. When she saw the caller ID, her eyes darkened. It was Mandy,
What could she want?
After a brief hesitation, Suzanne answered the call and coldly asked, “What is it?
Mandy didn’t mind Suzanne’s ley tone and instead responded in a sweet voice, “Suzanne, when are you coming home?!!
Suzanne frowned. Were they still trying to push her into marrying France Lloyd’s son, Todd lloyd?
Her expression grew cold, and she replied indifferently, “I’m not going back.”
Austin’s gaze hardened slightly, but he didn’t speak and continued to drive.
On the other end of the line, Mandy’s expression stiffened for a moment. However, as she thought about what she had to do next, she forced a smile.
Before she could contine, Suzanne cut her off in a fum velce, “Don’t call me again.”
Without another word, she hung up
No matter what Mandy was scheming, Suzanne woukh’t give her a chance to do it.
Meanwhile, Mandy, sitting on the couch, stared at the now–ended call with fury. Her fake smile vanished completely, and her eyes darkened with venom. She raised her hand and smashed her phone onto the flour. With a loud thud, the phone shattered on impact.
Mandy ground her teeth in rage as she glared at the phone on the ground. “That bitch!”
Seline, sitting on the couch and admiring her freshly done mads, looked up at Mandy with an expression of understanding. “She rejected you, huh? I

Mandy turned to Seline and saw her wearing a serious expression. She asked in skepticism, “What’s your idea? Will it work?
Suzanne was tough to crack.
Smiling, Seline waved at Mandy while leaning in closer. She then whispered in her ear, “We can do this.”
After just a few minutes, the doubt on Mandy’s face faded and was replaced by a smile. She raised her hand and tapped Seline’s forehead. “Well, well, look at you You actually came up with such a good idea!”
Usually, it was Mandy who came up with the plans, but today, Seline had surprised her. It seemed her hard work had paid oft. She had raised a clever
Seline proudly replied, “Of course! I’m your daughter!”
The two women shared a look filled with scheming smiles.
At that moment, Suzanne, having hung up the phone, silently gazed our the car window. A cold, heavy tension seemed to cling to her.
Mandy’s call had been nothing more than an attempt to pressure her into marriage, Suzanne let out a faint smile. Henry had never seen her as his tra daughter. Seline was the only precious one in his eyes.
