Judging from the force with which Luna was pushed, it was clear the culprit was a man. Horace stood up and thoughtfully suggested, “I’ll take you to speak with the manager.” A while later, in the surveillance room, the restaurant staff retrieved the footage but said apologetically, “The person covered the camera before making their move, Unfortunately, the surveillance didn’t capture the moment you were pushed into the water.”
Ms. Baxter.
Luna frowned at those words. “Did you capture a clear shot of this man’s face on any of your cameras?”
Four staff members began to take turns reviewing the footage. After half an hour, they all shook their heads.
“Our apologies, Ms. Baxter. He wore a mask and a hat. The cameras didn’t capture his face.” Luna’s expression turned serious. “Send me all the surveillance footage where he
appears.”
On the way home, Luna sent the surveillance clips to Clover. “Help me investigate this “she requested.
person
“What happened?” Clover asked, her voice tinged with worry as she sensed something was
wrong.
As Luna explained the events of the evening, her brows furrowed. “That guy would have killed me if Horace hadn’t shown up in time.”
“Leave it to me.” Clover’s face grew somber. “I’ll help you find out who this person is.” Meanwhile, in the villa’s living room, Sophie had called Simon more than ten times, but he hadn’t picked up once. Her expression was icy as she flung her phone onto the couch.
When her phone suddenly rang, Sophie grabbed her phone eagerly. However, her face fell in disappointment when she saw Hunter’s name.
“What did you say? Luna was saved? Who was that man?”
Listening to Hunter recount the events of the evening, Sophie dug her nails into her palm, her eyes filled with jealousy. She couldn’t understand why Luna was so lucky.
On the other end of the line, Hunter sat in his car his dark, sinister eyes brimming with malice. “She managed to escape this time. She’ll probably be very cautious now, making It harder for me to act.”
Sophie’s face turned cold, and she reminded him quietly, “Don’t act rashly. Wait for the right opportunity to make your move.”
“I’ll take care of her. Don’t worry. Just wait for me at home.”
As Hunter began to shift to sweet talk, Sophie hung up the phone in irritation.
