Chapter 82
Suzanne looked up, her cold gaze landing on Jenson. “What does it have to do with you?”
The nerve of this man to meddle in her affairs,
Jenson was caught off guard by her retort. “You!”
His expression darkened to an extreme degree. The Suzanne he once knew had always been gentle toward him, but now she was as cold and distant
Did she really think this would make him change his mind about her?
He fixed his icy gaze on her and warned, “You’d better stay away from him. You shouldn’t get involved with men like him.”
The more powerful a man, the more unfaithful they were. To marry a woman without a prominent background like Suzanne was nothing more than a joke to them
Upon hearing his condescending tone, Suzanne couldn’t help but laugh from anger. Folding her arms across her chest, she sat on the couch and looked at him with mockery. “Then who should I get involved with? You?”
She had been with Austin many times already, despite Jenson’s warnings.
As for Jenson–he repulsed her!
Her disdainful gaze made his expression darken further. “Suzanne, how could Austin possibly ever take a liking to you?”
He took a deep breath, trying to manage his emotions. “I’m warning you for your own good. Don’t overstep your bounds.”
Overstep her bounds?
Those words stung like a cruel joke to Suzanne, reminding her how naive she used to be. She had thought that love alone could bridge their gap, foolishly forgetting that for Jenson, everything was calculated for personal gain.
They had always wanted different things.
Standing up slowly, she replied coldly, “I’ve already overstepped my bounds by bring with Austin. Now, get out of my way.
She didn’t see the point in continuing this pointless argument.
As she brushed past him, Jenson grabbed her arm. His dark eyes bore into hers as he gritted his teeth. “Suzanne, do you really think
Before he could finish his words…
Suzanne’s slap was so forceful that Jenson’s head tilted to the side upon impact.
For a moment, he was stunned, the sharp pain radiating across his face, causing his expression to darken even further.
But Suzanne’s patience had run dry.
She stared at him with disgust. “Jenson, there’s nothing left between us. Stop interfering in my life, and get this through to your head–in my eyes, you’re nothing!”
Without waiting for his reaction, she turned and stormed out of the rooin
The door slammed shut behind her with a bang, solidifying the distance between them.
While clenching his jaw, Jenson’s eyes were so dark that it seemed as if ink would start drippling from them.
“Suzanne Yates!”
Outside, Suzanne didn’t even glance back. She spotted Seline standing by the door, clearly having eavesdropped. The corners of her mouth curled into
cold smirk.
Seline opened her mouth to speak, but Suzanne walked straight past her, heading straight back to Marsha’s private booth.
Marsha sighed in relied upon seeing that Suzanne was fine. She then turned back to Join Matthew and the others, who were still drinking and having
Janice and a few others were too tired to keep up. After a few more drinks, they decided to call it a night and left one after another.
Suzanne held her glass, sipping slowly, trying to suppress the anger still simmering in her chest.
Jenson was nothing but a self–absorbed fool.
Suddenly, her phone rang, notifying her of a new message.
