On the day I was discharged from the hospital, I saw two familiar figures walk past
- me.
“Isn’t that my ex–husband and ex–mother–in–law?”
They turned around upon hearing my voice, eyeing me and Jason up and down with disbelief and anger in their eyes.
“You shameless woman, you just got divorced and now you’re hooking up with another man! What are you doing here?”
Judith’s harsh face twisted instantly, and her scream was like a kettle boiling, sharp and piercing. “You shameless woman, you just got divorced and now you’re hooking up with another man! What are you doing here at the hospital? Are you pregnant with his child?”
Her voice grew louder, drawing curious glances from the people around us.
I calmly responded, “Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about your son. I think you should focus more on the paternity test, because the child in Helen’s womb probably isn’t your grandson, is it?”
I deliberately emphasized the words “paternity test” and “grandson.”
Upon hearing this, Judith’s face turned ashen, her eyes filled with disgust and anger toward Helen. She yelled, “That slut, I’ll kick her out sooner or later!”
I smiled faintly and decided to add fuel to the fire. “Before the divorce, your son was regularly transferring 10 thousand to Helen. You know Helen was living in a villa to raise her child, but what you don’t know is that the villa was registered under her name.
