I never expected the person standing in front of me to be my best childhood playmate.
“Yeah,” he said with a bright smile. “Wait, what kind of question is that? You’ve known my name for a while now.”
I was stunned, unable to believe my eyes. “Are you really the boy who used to eat tomatoes for me?”
Seeing him nod slowly, I screamed in excitement.
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier when I said you shared the same name as my primary school classmate?” I asked, both curious and slightly accusatory.
He tapped my nose lightly. “I wanted you to remember and tell me yourself. Wouldn’t that be more meaningful?”
I carefully examined him, from his hair to his toes, not missing a single detail. You’re really nothing like before.”
“Really? Then I must have become more handsome,” he said confidently, spreading his arms and spinning around.
“Why did you leave without saying goodbye?” I asked, remembering how sad I had been back then.
“My dad was abusive. After my mom divorced him, she took me away,” Jason continued. “I wanted to see you and say goodbye, but I didn’t even have time to leave a note.”
Afterward, his mother remarried, and his stepfather had a child of his own.
His stepfather was wealthy, provided a good life for them, and treated them well.
Not long after, Jason was sent abroad to study.
“I’ve wanted to find you for a long time,” said Jason, holding my hand.
“I asked our classmates for news about you. By the time I found you, you were already married,” he said, a hint of sadness in his eyes. “I didn’t want to disturb your life.”
Even after that, he couldn’t give up.
He kept an eye on me and eventually heard about my divorce with Rick.
He rushed back from abroad, hoping to help me.

And as fate would have it, he happened to run into me on his very first day back.
When I found out, I hugged him tightly, wanting to stay with him forever and ever.
