Chapter 8
Patrick’s heart boiled with anger as he saw his beloved girl wronged. In that moment, all rationality seemed to slip away. He forgot that with Lora‘ s strong personality, how could she ever stoop to insulting others?
Thinking quickly, he rushed to Christy‘ s residence. When Christy heard the commotion at the door, she knew Patrick had returned, unable to bear being away from her.
Still wearing the purple nightgown, she ran toward him, throwing her arms around his neck.
“Uncle, I knew you couldn’t leave me! Kiss me, uncle. I love you so much!”
But just as she was about to kiss him, she froze under the intensity of Patrick‘ s fierce gaze.
“Uncle, why are you looking at me like that?

You‘ re scaring me!”
Without a word. Patrick pushed her away forcefully.
“Do you have any idea what you ve done? I warned you–Lora is my bottom line. I told you not to provoke her!”
“You‘ re so stupid! I wish I could strangle you right now!”
His expression was terrifying, his rage palpable, as if he genuinely intended to harm her.
Christy had never seen him this way before. Overwhelmed by fear, she burst into tears, crying out loudly.
Patrick ignored her wailing and snatched her phone. Without hesitation, he opened her circle of friends.
At that moment, the last shred of hope in his heart died. His fury was unstoppable. He slapped Christy across the face, the sound echoing in the room.

Chapter 3
“This is what you did! You actually did this
to my Lora!”
“Christy, you deserve to die!”
Though young and naive, Christy began to grasp the gravity of the situation. She understood that Patrick had discovered the
private moments she had posted–those meant only for Lora to see.
Her teeth clenched in frustration. She thought bitterly that Lora must have told him everything!
A sly smile crept across her face as she whispered quietly, “Uncle, I love you so much! It’s all Lora‘ s fault. She’s the one who posted that circle of friends first, provoking me. I was just defending myself!”
“Uncle, don’t be fooled by Lora. She’s older than me, more cunning. She just wanted to drive a wedge between us and make you side with her!”
Christy felt her explanation was sound,

even clever. She believed Patrick would fall
for her performance,
But Patrick saw through her lies
immediately.
“Do you really think it was Lora who
complained? She wouldn’t even stoop to that level!”
“Christy, you still want to slander Lora? It’s my fault for indulging you too much!”
“You have one last chance. No matter what you do, you need to fix this. You need to win Lora back to me. If you fail, I won’t let you off easily!“.
Christy sobbed, clutching his hand tightly.
“Uncle, please don‘ t be angry. It’s all my fault. But I just love you so much. I’m jealous of Lora. I can’t stand being away from you!”
“As long as you‘ re not with me, I feel like I’ll lose you forever! Uncle, I need you. My child and I need you.”

Chapter S
As she spoke, Patrick’s hand instinctively rested on her belly. In her mind, she thought of how desperate he had been for a child, especially since Lora’s body had failed to conceive for so many years.
Carefully observing his expression, Christy felt confident that he must have been moved.
But what Christy didn’t know was that, the moment she uttered the word “child,” Patrick‘ s mind was instantly flooded with a different memory–the day Lora had gone to the hospital alone to terminate the child. they had worked so hard to conceive.
A deep sadness washed over him, making his grip tighten slightly on Christy’s belly.
