You don’t deserve to be my Luna
Scarlett’s POV:
The pack hall was unusually quiet this morning. Lucian sat in his office, staring blankly at the wall. He hadn’t slept since learning of my disappearance, and showed in the dark circles under his eyes.
The sun had barely risen when Beta Jack approached him with the latest search update.
‘Alpha, we’ve covered every inch of our lands,” Jack reported hesitantly. “There’s no trace of Luna Scarlett.”
“Then search again!” Lucian’s eyes flashed red. “She has to be somewhere!”
The pack members exchanged worried glances. They’d never seen their Alpha like this before.
“Maybe…” Beta Jack started carefully, “Maybe we should consider the possibility that Luna Scarlett is really-‘
“Don’t!” Lucian’s roar shook the windows. “Don’t you dare say it!”
The door opened softly, and Lily glided in. She was wearing a modest black dress, her face a perfect mask of concern. I noticed she was still wearing my ring, its magic pulsing steadily around her finger.
“Oh, Lucian,” she said softly, her voice dripping with false sympathy. “You look terrible. Have you eaten anything?”
Lucian didn’t respond, his face a mask of cold indifference.
“I brought you some soup,” Lily continued, setting a container on his desk. “You need to keep your strength up. The pack needs you.”
Still no response. Lily moved closer, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“I know you’re hurting,” she whispered. “Let me help you through this difficult time.”
“The pack is worried about you,” she continued when he remained silent. “They need their Alpha to be strong. Scarlett wouldn’t want you to waste away like this.”
At the mention of my name, I felt Lucian’s emotions spike through our bond. Still, he watching her performance with dead eyes.
said nothing,
Lily knelt beside his chair, taking his hand in hers. “I care about you, Lucian. We all do. Perhaps… perhaps it’s time to consider what’s best for the pack
His fingers twitched slightly in her grasp. “What do you mean?”
“Well…” Lily’s voice was hesitant, perfectly practiced. “The pack needs a Luna. Someone strong, someone with a wolf’s blood. Someone who can give you pure–blooded heirs.”
She placed his hand on her stomach, where his twins grew. “I could be that Luna, Lucian. I could help -you lead the pack, give you the family you deserve.”
The temperature in the room dropped several degrees Through our bond, I felt Lucian’s cold numbness shatter into white–hot rage.

“You want to be Luna?” His voice was deadly quiet.
Lily, misreading his tone, smiled sweetly. “Yes! Think about it – we could be so perfect together. The pack would respect you more with a proper Luna by your side, not some weak-”
His hand shot out, wrapping around her throat. Lily’s eyes widened in shock as he lifted her off the ground.
“Never,” he snarled, his Alpha power filling the room ‘never speak of replacing Scarlett again.”
“Lu–Lucian,” Lily choked out, clawing at his hand. “The baby…”
“My mate is not dead!” His roar shook the windows. “She’s just missing, and when she comes home, she won’t want to see you here!“He released her, and Lily stumbled back, gasping for air.
Lily’s mask slipped for a moment, revealing her irritation. “Lucian, be reasonable. Scarlett is gone. You need to accept that and move forward.” She placed a hand on her stomach. “Think about our babies.”
“Our babies?” His voice was dangerously quiet. “You mean the children you’re carrying because you manipulated me? Because you saw an opportunity when Scarlett was suffering?”
Lily’s eyes widened with false innocence. “How can you say that? I love you! I’ve always loved you!”
“Love?” Lucian laughed bitterly. “You didn’t love me when I was imprisoned in your pack’s dungeons. You didn’t love me when you chose James over me. You only started ‘loving‘ me again when I became Alpha.”
I watched with growing interest. This was a side of Lucian I hadn’t seen in years – the sharp, perceptive wolf who could see through deception.
“That’s not true!” Lily protested, but her voice wavered. “I made a mistake with James. I was young and scared!”
“And now?” Lucian’s eyes narrowed. “Now you’re older and braver, so you decided to destroy my mate’s life instead?”
“She wasn’t worthy of you!” Lily finally snapped, her carefully constructed facade crumbling. “A Lunat without a wolf? It’s embarrassing! I gave you everything she couldn’t strength, power, pure bloodline cubs!”
–
The Alpha power that exploded from Lucian made everyone in the room stumble–back. His eyes burned red as he advanced on Lily.
“You gave me nothing but lies,” he snarled. “Scarlett gave me everything – her love, her life, her future. She saved me when you abandoned me. She believed in me when everyone else thought I was worthless.
“You’re delusional!” she spat, rubbing her throat. “Scarlett is dead! The sooner you accept that, the better!”
“Get out.” His voice was ice. “Get out of my house before Scarlett comes home. She won’t want to see you here.”
“She’s not coming home!” Lily screamed, finally losing her composure. “She’s dead! Your precious

Luna is dead, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner we can-
She never finished her sentence. Lucian’s Alpha power filled the room like a physical force, making it hard to breathe.
“I said get out!” he roared. “If you ever speak of my mate like that again, I’ll throw you out of this territory myself!”
Lily fled, clutching her stomach dramatically. But I caught the calculating look in her eyes as she left. This wasn’t over- she was just changing tactics.
She drove straight to the hospital, her hand protectively over her stomach. The smirk she’d been hiding finally emerged as she walked through the doors.
“I need to see Dr. Kane immediately,” she told the receptionist. “It’s about the Alpha’s babies.”
I watched as she underwent her examination, her eyes lighting up with triumph when Dr. Kane delivered the news.
“Congratulations,” he said professionally. “You’re carrying twins.”
Lily’s face split into a wide grin. “Twins? Are you sure?”
“Yes, very clearly. Would you like to know the genders?”
“Not yet,” Lily practically purred with satisfaction. “I want to share that moment with their father.”
As she left the hospital, her hand caressed my ring – still on her finger. “Just you wait, Scarlett,” she muttered. “Even dead, you can’t stop me from becoming Luna. These twins will ensure that.”
I sneered at her confidence. If she thought pregnancy would force Lucian to make her Luna, she was in for a surprise. I’d seen the hatred in his eyes when he looked at her now.
Drifting back to Lucien, I saw him pacing the bedroom, a troubled look on his face.
“Where are you, my love?” he whispered. “Please… just come back to me.”
I glanced at the clock on the wall. Sarah should have mailed the second letter by now. Soon, he would learn more about why I’d disappeared and exactly what his betrayal had cost.
The letter would arrive tomorrow, revealing another piece of the truth he couldn’t face. Each–word would cut deeper than any blade, just as I’d intended.
