Scarlett’s POV:
Lucian jerked awake, my letter still clutched in his trembling hands. He’d fallen asleep in his chair, torturing himself by reading my words over and over
Without even changing his rumpled clothes, he rushed to his car. I followed, curious to see what he would do next.
Then the next second, I realized I was in the United Council of Wolves hospital, which was a mess. Lily was tied to a bed in the pre–op room, struggling frantically.
“Let me go!” she screamed, yanking at the straps. “Don’t you know who I am? I’m carrying Alpha Lucian’s heirs!”
“Lie still,” one of the nurses snapped, roughly pushing her back down. “You’re just making this harder on yourself.”
“You can’t touch me!” Lily’s face was red with fury. “These are Alpha’s babies! He won’t let you hurt them!”
The head nurse, an older woman with cold eyes, snorted as she checked the restraints. “Honey, if you’re at our hospital, it means these cubs are unwanted mongrels. We handle all the pack’s… complications.
“How dare you!” Lily spat at the nurse. “These are pure–blooded heirs!”
The nurse calmly wiped her face and slapped Lily hard across the cheek. “Watch your mouth, mistress. You’re not the first whore to claim her bastards are special, and you won’t be the last.”
“I’m different!” Lily struggled harder. “I’m his true love! His mate!I am the daughter of the Shadowpack Alpha.”
“That’s what the last three said too,” another nurse remarked dryly. “Alpha brings them all here when he’s done with them.”
Lily thrashed so violently the bed shook. “He loves me He’ll destroy this whole hospital if you hurt his babies!”
“Alpha won’t care what happens here,” the head nurse tightened the straps painfully. “He never does. Now shut up before I gag you.”
“You’re lying!” Lily screamed. “He chose me over his una! He’ll-”
The nurse slapped her again, grabbed her face hard and shoved a piece of cloth into her mouth.” I said shut up no one wants to hear your delusions bitch.”
Suddenly, Lucian burst through the door, Lily’s eyes lit up with desperate hope. She tried to speak through the gag, making muffled sounds of triumph.
The nurses paled at his presence. One quickly removed the gag from Lily’s mouth.
“I knew you’d come!” she cried. “My love, look how they’ve treated me! These horrible nurses, they’ve been so cruel! They called our precious babies mongrels and bastards!”

She deliberately crooked the right side of her face to reveal two handprints stacked on top of each other. She was now expecting him to give her an out.
“Shut that filthy mouth,” Lucian’s voice was pure ice. I’m sick of hearing it spew lies.”
Lily’s triumphant smile crumbled. “What? But… but you love me! You said-”
“I said many things to get you into bed,” he cut her off “You were nothing but a convenient hole to fuck when I was bored. It’s another way for me to get back at Shadowpack.”
Her face crumpled. “You don’t mean that! Think about all those nights we spent together! All the things we did=”
“You mean all the times you spread your legs like a common whore?” His laugh was cruel. “How you begged for it in the forest, in my office, in my car? You’re nothing but a slut who can’t keep her mouth off men’s cocks.”
The nurses exchanged uncomfortable glances as Lucian approached the bed. His eyes fixed on my ring, still gleaming on Lily’s finger.
“That doesn’t belong to you,” he growled, reaching for her hand.
“No!” Lily tried to curl her fingers into a fist, but the restraints held her still. “You gave it to me! To protect our babies!”
“I gave you nothing,” Lucian yanked the ring from her finger violently. “This belongs to Scarlett. It was meant to protect her, and I was fool enough to give it to a worthless whore like you.”
“Please,” Lily’s voice cracked. “Don’t do this! The babies need that ring’s protection!”
“They’re not babies,” Lucian’s voice dripped with contempt. “They’re parasites growing in a whore’s womb. Evidence of how far I’ve fallen.”
Tears streamed down Lily’s face. “You can’t mean that! These are your heirs! Your blood!”
“My only heirs will come from Scarlett,” he said quietly. “And since I’ve destroyed any chance of that, I’ll have no heirs at all.”
He turned to the nurses. “Proceed with the termination. And don’t be gentle about it.”
“Lucian, please!” Lily screamed as they began wheeling her toward the operating room. “I love you! How can you be so cruel?”
“Cruel?” He laughed bitterly. “You want to talk about cruelty? You helped me betray the only woman I’ve ever truly loved. Now you’ll pay for that sin with your precious cubs.”
“No!” Lily thrashed against the restraints. “They’re innocent! They’re your children!”
“They’re nothing to me,” he said coldly. “Just like you’re nothing. Less than nothing.
As they pushed her through the operating room doors Lily’s screams grew more desperate. “Lucian! Please! Don’t let them kill our babies!”
He didn’t even look back. Without my ring’s protection, her screams of pain soon echoed through the

corridors.
Dark satisfaction coursed through my spirit form. Each cry was like music to my ears. Let her suffer. Let her feel even a fraction of what I’d endured.
Through our bond, I felt Lucian’s emotions not gullor regret, but a cold determination to erase every trace of his betrayal.
He stared down at my ring in his palm, its magic pulsing weakly. Blood stained the band where he’d torn it from Lily’s finger.
“I’m sorry, my love,” he whispered. “I should have protected you. Instead, I gave away the one thing keeping you alive.”
Lily’s screams had faded to whimpers. The procedure must be nearly complete.
I watched as Lucian walked out of the hospital without a backward glance. His face was set in stone, but through our bond, I felt his self–hatred growing.
He couldn’t save me. He couldn’t undo his betrayal. But he could destroy every reminder of his mistakes, starting with those unwanted cubs.
The sun was setting as we left the hospital. Behind us, Lily’s fate was sealed.
I felt no pity for her. She had tried to take everything from me – my mate, my position, my future. Now she was losing everything too.
Through our bond, I sensed Lucian’s determination hardening into something darker. He would punish himself for my death by destroying every chance at happiness he might have had.
Perfect. Let him suffer. Let him live with the consequences of his choices.
Making these two bitches, miserable forever, is exactly what I was hoping for when I wrote these letters.
