My mother immediately understood what he was implying and became furious. “Are you seriously suspecting Angel? You must be insane! Angel is such a good kid. Stop making things up to spite me!” Then, she hung up the phone.
Then, she opened the comments on her article after venting her anger for a couple of minutes. When she scrolled through all the comments of people hurling insults at me, she smiled in satisfaction and even began humming happily.
Then, she bought a bouquet of sunflowers by the roadside and went home. As she pushed open the door, she called out, “Angel, I’m home! Look what I brought for you!
However, there was no response from Angel, who should have come running at the sound of her voice.
So, my mother held the bouquet and rushed to Angel’s bedroom. Yet, she found no trace of her even after searching the entire house.
Soon, my mother panicked and quickly ran outside to ask the neighbors if they had seen Angel leave.
One of the neighbors mentioned seeing her going out while taking a set of car keys.
Thus, my mother rushed to the garage and noticed one of her cars was missing.
As I watched her getting anxious, I suddenly recalled how she hadn’t shown such anxiety when I disappeared.
My mother’s hands trembled as she dialed Officer John’s number. She had to press the call button several times before successfully calling Officer John.
“Angel is missing!”
“I’ll check the surveillance cameras right away!” Officer John said seriously.
At that moment, I was confused. After all, why did the police start investigating as soon as Angel pulled the disappearing act?
It seemed that my mother didn’t expect him to be so accommodating as well. Regardless, her tense shoulders immediately went down. “I’ll be right there!”
