James had told me two things in the parking lot earlier.
First, for seven years, Selena had been working towards the goal of studying abroad. She had been so close to achieving it, but then she met me. For my sake, she chose to give up that dream. It wasn’t until James said it that I realized just how much Selena had sacrificed for me.
Initially, I promised myself that since she gave up her dreams for me, I would treat her right for the lives.
But then, James revealed another truth.

Part of me was scared.
