Expecting this, Tyler didn’t argue. He simply stepped aside and let me head toward the quest room.
It had once been prepared for our child. After I lost the baby, this room remained untouched.
In the comer, I kept a gift I’d bought for them—a pair of tennis bracelets. However, when I opened the drawer, it
was empty.
Panic set in. Those bracelets were irreplaceable.
Then, an unsettling thought struck me,
I rushed out of the room, and there it was. Tyler was holding the bracelets.
“Sarah, I don’t want a divorce. Let’
s talk this through.”
“What do you want?”
I snapped, my eyes locked on the bracelets. He fiddled with them, knowing he had the upper hand.
“I told you. I don’t want a divorce.
“Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you, Sarah.”
Tyler’s plea fell on deaf ears. My resolve had hardened.
“I don’t care about anything else. Just give me back the bralets.”
Tyler’s expression darkened, and he asked firmly, “Is the really no room for compromise?“
