“Anya, I only yelled at you just now because of what happened to my parents. I’ve been feeling down in the dumps. Don’t blame me for that, okay? I didn’t do it on purpose.”
I looked down at her hand and saw that it was covered in lumps. Goosebumps broke out on my skin.
I plastered on a fake smile. “It’s okay. I can understand.”
I then chatted with her for a little while before I went back Home.
Immediately after, I got out the record I bought from the music store. It played the exact same songs as the one Laura bought for me. Then, I recorded a video and sent it to Laura.
I knew that she might not watch it, so I described what I felt after I listened to the music from the previous cycle. Soon, Laura replied, [Since you like it, you have to listen to it a few more times, right?
[I’m happy that you like the record.]
I sneered. Listen to it a few more times? She really wanted me to die as soon as possible, huh? Deciding to go all out on my acting, I found a close friend of Laura’s and complained to her about how certain problems had popped up with my graduation cert. I even said that I had to go back to the university to prove that I did not take a certain test.
I also used paint to draw lumps on my body. Some of them poked so red and swollen that they looked like pus was about to burst out from them.
When Laura saw my photo, she immediately left a comment under the photo I uploaded, [When did that happen?!] After some thinking, I replied, [Today. I might have gotten an infection when I was in the hospital.]
Laura said nothing else, but I could sense that she was laughing happily on the other end of the phone.
‘Laugh away. Soon, you’ll be busy crying,‘ I thought.

Once I was done, I video–called William and my father. “How’s it going? Is the place I got for you good?”
They nodded. After asking about my well–being, William sent my father away.
With a frown, he asked in a whisper, “Did something happen, Anya?
“I feel uneasy, for some reason.”
I did not want them to worry, so I replied with a laugh, “Nothing happened. But I may be a little tired because I’ve been preparing for graduation.
“Don’t worry about me. Once I’m done on my side, I’ll go join you two.
“Have fun over there!”
William remained puzzled, but since I was not willing to divulge more information, he did not pursue any answers. He just told me to be careful and to call him if anything happened.
After I hung up, I felt my heart squeeze in pain.
The memories of their horrible deaths still remained fresh in my mind, and they refused to go away.
I was not going to let those things happen again, no matter what!
At that moment, Adam called. “Anya, you haven’t visited me at all lately. Do you not love me anymore?”
