In my past life, by the end of it all, I could no longer distinguish whether I loved Nathan or was simply obsessed with him.
After a long pause, I mocked him, “Nathan, honestly, all I ever wanted was so little, but you still couldn’t give it to me. I’m my parents‘ little princess. Why should I let you trample all over me? So, forget it.”
With that, I pulled my gaze away, turning to leave. But Nathan, frantic, grabbed my arm.
His tall figure nearly stumbled as he reached out for me. His pale lips quivered as he said, “I won’t agree. We can’t just let this go. Lois, you’re my wife. You can’t just leave me…‘
There was a tremor in his voice.
I let out a short laugh, pulling my arm away. “We’re divorced, Nathan. You made me sign the divorce papers. You pressured me into attending that press conference, and you watched me go to the courthouse to pick up the divorce papers. All of this was your doing. You can’t deny it, right?”
“I…” Nathan fell silent, his voice lost.
I was ready to walk away. As he moved to follow me, I casually lifted my chin toward Jenny’s direction and said, Mr. Baldwin, you and Ms. Price actually make quite the pair!”
Nathan’s face drained of color instantly.

Nathan had arrived in Holnia early in the morning.
After Brandon learned my schedule, Nathan didn’t waste a moment before rushing to find me.
But when he saw me in a wedding dress, laughing and joking with Chris, he slowly came to a halt. He stood frozen under a tree, watching.
He didn’t know when it happened, but he hadn’t seen me laugh like that in a long time. Every time we met, it ended in an argument over Jenny. Slowly, he stopped coming home often, either staying at the office or drinking with Jeremy until the early hours.
At that moment, he realized with startling clarity–that what I said at the courthouse that day had been from the
heart.
I didn’t want him anymore. But he couldn’t live without me
