Chapter 24
Nicole didn’t respond to James and instead walked straight back into the hospital room, took out her phone, and started recording, pointing the camera at Travis.
“Mr. Graham, there are three elderly patients outside, and you have exactly three empty beds in this room. Please agree to let them move in.”
Travis looked into the camera, slightly narrowing his eyes.
“What are you doing?
“There are three elderly patients who need beds. As the CEO of Graham Corporation and someone known for charitable work, I’m sure you would agree to such a request”
Nicole knew Travis cared deeply about his company’s interests. He would never allow anything to tarnish its reputation.
Travis slowly straightened up, his handsome face darkening. “Are you threatening me?
“Travis Graham, the youngest CEO in the history of Graham Corporation, is not just an ambitious business leader but also a passionate philanthropist,” Nicole paused deliberately. “If I’m not mistaken, that was the praise from at major business magazine. Mr. Graham, I believe you’re a compassionate person. You wouldn’t simply watch three patients old enough to be your grandfather suffer in the corridor.”
Travis’s fists clenched as hard as stone, his face dark as storm clouds, beyond merely looking unpleasant.
Half an hour later, the three elderly patients from the corridor were gradually moved into the hospital room.
Travis remained silent throughout, his face grim as he stared down at his phone.
Lucy sat beside him, concern filling her eyes. She gently reached out, almost touching Travis’s hand in comfort, but he instinctively pulled away.
At that moment, Nicole turned to face Travis directly.
“Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Graham. The hospital hopes you’ll complete your discharge procedures in four days to accommodate the next patient.”
Travis: ”
Over the next few days, no matter how angry Travis was, he had to restrain himself whenever he saw Nicole chatting and laughing with the three elderly patients.
As the current CEO of Graham Corporation, he needed to be mindful of his words and actions in public spaces.
“Nicole, I need to use the bathroom!” Travis shouted irritably from his bed, glaring at Nicole, who was still chatting with an elderly gentleman.
“James is right next to you. It’s not appropriate for a woman like me to assist you,” Nicole bluntly refused. Travis puffed out his cheeks, seething with frustration.
“Mr. Graham, did you call me?” James, unaware of the situation, walked in and asked Travis.
Travis squeezed out a single word from between his clenched teeth, “Go!”
“Yes, sir!” James quickly scurried out of the bospital room
Lucy immediately chimed in, “Travis, why don’t you use wheelchair to walk to the bathroom?”

Travis refused, “You’re mobility–impaired, and I don’t need you doing such tasks. Nicole should do this. You just stay by my side like a good girl.”
Lucy feigned concern for Nicole, “Travis, isn’t this inappropriate? Nicole is a woman, and it might be inconvenient for her.”
Travis snapped, “What’s inconvenient? She used to take care of me like this all the time!”
Wasn’t it true?
During their three years of marriage, whenever Travis was sick or drunk, Nicole had always been there to personally care for him.
Even now, after their divorce, Travis subconsciously felt that Nicole should naturally continue to take care of him. “Young man, what’s your relationship with Miss Spencer? What makes you think she should take care of you?!” One of the elderly patients, unable to tolerate Travis’s disrespectful tone, confronted him directly.
To prevent the patient from getting into a conflict with Travis, Nicole quickly spoke up, “Mr. Graham is my ex- husband.”
