Winona stayed in the hospital bed for half a month until Yvonne appeared one day in a gorgeous dress.
She looked at me in delight and asked, “Do you know that Sean invited me to a party? He’s taking me out in public!
I was taken aback as I glanced at the hospital bed. Winona clenched her fists.
Yvonne did not notice it and continued speaking happily, “Also, do you know what Sean said to me? He told me that he hated Winona and never had feelings for her. He wished I was his fiancée and not her.”
Yvonne laughed in great delight as she looked at Winona still lying in bed. “It’s nice to know the truth. I had always thought that you were the only person in Sean’s heart. If I had realized his true feelings earlier, I wouldn’t have spent so much effort to poison you.
“I had always hoped that you’d die but now, I wish you’ll stay alive. I want you to be alive and watch me and Sean get married.”
Yvonne laughed happily after that.
Winona opened her eyes in bed after Yvonne left. She quietly shed a tear.
had no idea how to console her. I could only sigh.
Winona said, “I always thought that Sean had feelings for me. I guess it was all a lie. Everything was just an act with him.”
I looked at her and asked, “What do you plan to do now?”
“Well, I’ve already applied to be an exchange student at a university out of the country. I plan to leave right away. Don’t worry. I didn’t forget about you helping me. I plan to leave you some money. You can use it to escape your family.
“I won’t be able to help you further than that. You’ve seen for yourself how Sean has been completely mesmerized by Yvonne.”
She laughed bitterly.
I nodded. It was just as well. Even though I could not get my revenge on Yvonne, it was good enough that I could
escape.
Winona left the hospital suddenly. She did not even inform me about it.
