Chapter 11
In the Simpson’s place, Auroville.
Before Grace was pushed into the operating room, someone had switched her out halfway.
The person who took her place was a cancer patient who looked a lot like her. She was also a cornea donor. After she was euthanized in the operating room, they put makeup on her and added some surgical scars so that no one would notice anything strange.
Grace knew that Lucile wasn’t blind, so she had told them to give the cancer patient’s corneas to another little girl who really needed them. This way, they wouldn’t go to waste.
Meanwhile, Grace was secretly taken to the airport. She got on a plane and flew back to Auroville with a new identity.
When Grace was coming out of the airport with the housekeeper, Harley Wade, she saw her biological parents, her brother Jonah Simpson, and some bodyguards waiting for her at the exit.
As soon as she showed up, everyone crowded around her.
Her mother, Nancy Simpson, held her face gently, touching it over and over again. With tears in her eyes, she pulled her into a hug. “My dear. daughter… My poor girl… It’s all my fault…”
“Don’t say that. It’s enough that Grace is back safely.”
Grace’s father was called Derick Simpson. His sharp eyes glistened with unshed tears. He held back his emotions and said firmly, “Let’s go home.”
Jonah walked beside them, looking closely at Grace. She was quite pretty,

but she looked thin and weak, with a pale face. She seemed like she hadn’t been eating well.
Jonah frowned, thinking about what kind of life Grace had been living in Elmeburg to end up like this.
It looked like what Harley had told them wasn’t the whole story.
Jonah decided he needed to find some time to talk to Grace.
The Simpson family lived in a big house right in the middle of Auroville. They had another house out in the suburbs. That one was even bigger and had its own golf course. They only went there when they were on
vacation.
When they got home, Nancy took Grace around the house and introduced her to all the helpers. After that, she took Grace upstairs to her own room.
The room was done up in a blue ocean theme. As soon as Grace walked in, she felt it was fresh and cool. Even the air freshener smelt like sea salt. -it was refreshing.
“You know, I first thought about making your room all pink like a princess’s. But I had Harley check with you, and you said you like blue. So, I had them decorate it like this. If you don’t like it, we can change it anytime you want.”
Nancy opened up the closet. “I got you some clothes. I wasn’t sure what you’d like, so I got the newest styles. You can pick out what you want. If you don’t like something, just toss it.
“Over here are your shoes. And this is where your bags and jewelry are…”
Before Nancy could finish, Grace started to cry.
All the sadness and frustration from the past three months came pouring out all at once.
Chapter 11
When Grace first went back to the Parrish’s place, Eloy and Silvia were
pretty nice to her. They bought her dolls, decorated her room, and got her some new clothes.
She felt really happy back then.
But when Lucile came back three months ago, she realized that everything she had before was nothing compared to what Lucile got.
After Lucile returned, the Parrish family was always worried that she might not like something. They would ask her what she wanted and do whatever she said, just like the Simpson family was doing for Grace now.
However, for twenty years, the Parrish family pampered Grace, but they never really respected her.
For example, her room was pink because Lucile liked it. The Parrish family never knew that she liked blue.
But the Simpson family…
Actually, Grace never told Harley that she liked blue.
Thinking back on the twenty years she spent in Elmeburg, she pursed her lips and felt a lot of different feelings.
The next day, Jonah found Grace and asked her about her time in Elmeburg. But Grace kept quiet and didn’t say anything.
“Why are you so scared? You’ve got Mom, Dad, and me. No one dares to mess with you.”
Jonah frowned. “Or is it that you still have some feelings left for that guy?”
