The whole mess ended with the arrival of the
principal.
I wasn’t going to get away with it.
I was sent home, with a suspension and
ordered to apologize to Tiffany during an
assembly.
How funny, that this had happened before.
Lily wrote in her diary that Tiffany and her
crew had cornered her in the bathroom. The
principal had dismissed it, made her “reflect”
on her role in the attack.
That’s how Lily’s hopes died.
After that, they went after her openly, bullying
her everywhere on campus.
I finished reading the forced apology, ignored
the principal’s nasty look and left the school.
A tall shadow fell over me.
く
It was Brad, the golden boy, the one every girl
had a crush on. He grabbed my arm, his face
full of worry.
“Are you okay? I heard that Tiffany gave you
hell again?”
I knew who he was, my sister’s unrequited
love. The only people at school that didn’t
actively avoid “me” were him and my bullies.
I tried to sound as weak and pathetic as my
sister would have, “I’m fine.”
He sighed with relief.
“But I heard that you fought back? That’s
wrong, Lily.”
I smirked. He was here to lecture me.
<
“Oh, it’s wrong? I just gave them a taste of
their own medicine. Ever hear of ‘an eye for
an eye‘?”
Brad frowned, clearly not liking my attitude.
He tried to stay calm. “You’ve got it wrong,
Lily, I’m saying all this because I’m worried
about you.”
“What if you made her mad, what are you
going to do? Listen to me, tomorrow you
apologize at the school gate, and she’ll
forgive you, I’ll ask her to.
I was disgusted.
My goal was to make everyone who hurt my
sister pay.
Tiffany was always talking about Brad, maybe
く
something was going on between them?
I needed to know the truth.
Since Brad was offering to help, I wasn’t
going to say no.
I nodded.
He looked so happy, he tried to hug me.
I forced myself to hug him back, secretly
placing a small device on him during the
embrace.
Lily was a sweet girl, I refuse to believe she
didn’t have a reason for being targeted.
He left with a smile on his face.

As soon as he was gone, I noticed Tiffany
glaring at me from the classroom window.
