Samuel sat on the swing, hunching over for a long while after making the phone calls

As soon as he moved, a sharp pain shot through his wrist, and the hand holding the phone trembled uncontrollably

With a soft thud, the phone slipped from his grasp

He watched helplessly as the phone landed beside the nightlight Isabella had installed on the balcony. His breath caught, and before he knew it, his vision blurred, his emotions spiraling beyond control. The floodgates of grief burst open, and he broke down in helpless sobs

Isabella really didn’t want him anymore. She had discarded him and thrown away everything they had shared

His mind spun in a haze of chaotic memoriesimages of him and Isabella exchanging rings at their wedding, of him tangled in bed with Jennifer, lying to Isabella on the phone just to cover his tracks

Each memory cut through him like a knife, pushing him closer to madness

But then, something sharper broke through the storm of his thoughts, and he suddenly thought of something

Money

Even if Isabella didn’t want to see him and had gone into hiding or off on a trip, she would still need money

He couldn’t let himself think too deeply about it. In a frenzy, he snatched up his phone and opened his online banking app. Without considering his account limits, he transferred huge sums into her account, one after

another

Isabella didn’t care much about money. What he was doing couldn’t bring her back, but at least it would make her life a little easier wherever she was. Maybe, just maybe, when she saw the transfers, she would think of him once in a while

But his wishful thinking was quickly shattered by the bank’s call

Mr. Grant, we regret to inform you that the account you are attempting to transfer funds to was officially deactivated two days ago. Your transfer request cannot be processed. Please verify and try again.”

Samuel stood frozen. Can you help me contact her? I need to speak with her urgently.”

The bank representative replied, Sorry, I’m afraid that’s beyond our scope of service.”

Defeated, Samuel hung up, feeling the weight of his powerlessness. He knew there was nothing he could do to bypass the bank’s security, and convincing them to help wasn’t even an option

He sat there, lost. But then another thought crossed his mind, pulling him out of his stupor..

He remembered Isabella had once had an account named Silhouette on a social platform, where she frequently shared her photography. Over time, though, he had lost track of the specific platform as he didn’t keep up with social media
