Rolling up her sleeves, Josie took a deep breath, steadied herself, and let out a battle cry.
“There’s a burglar! Catch her!”
Then, she lunged at Leah. The resulting brawl was utter chaos.
Hearing the commotion, a half–asleep Maria stumbled out of bed, grabbed a broom, and joined the fray. As Leah’s screams grew sharper and more pitiful, Maria finally woke up.

Josie scoffed. “That’s how she’ll learn her lesson. Maria, you suck at cooking, and you hit like a wimp.”

Suddenly remembering that her job was on the line, Maria rolled up her sleeves and started swinging, determined to prove her value. It took security to finally pry her off Leal.
By then, Leah was covered in bruises, and her face was terribly swollen. She sobbed so hard she could barely breathe.
When I arrived at work, I happened to be the one to treat Leah, who just finished dealing with her wounds.
By then, she had somewhat calmed down. But the moment she saw the bracelet on my wrist and recognized it from Simon’s post, her composure cracked.
“So it was you!” She shouted, “You’re getting close to him to get back at me, aren’t you?”
I pressed a hand to her shoulder to keep her still. “Stay still and don’t move. If you break the equipment, you won’t be able to afford to compensate for it.”
I accidentally pressed on one of her injuries, and she cried out in pain.
Once Leah calmed down, she behaved herself and seemed to regain some control over her emotions.
Knowing that I was soft–hearted, she stared at me with a smirk.
