The four of them drove into the compound of the research facility, and the security personnel at the entrance let them in.
Marcus was the first to receive the news about their presence, so he took them to the conference room.
“Please rest and wait here for a moment. Sandra has yet to finish her experiment. She will come down to meet you after she is done. We are at the critical stage of our project, everyone must be in full concentration and not distracted. Please wait for a moment.”
Jared thanked Marcus and sent him away.
Irene looked around and muttered, “Sandra really is our biological daughter. She’s doing very well.”
Mike put his hands behind his back and stood up straight. He looked at most of the award certificates on the wall, unaware that Sandra had joined any competitions. For the first time, he was proud of his daughter.
After waiting for nearly two hours, when everyone’s patience was about to wear out, Sandra arrived with Zachary.
Zachary greeted Mike and Irene respectfully. “Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Hudson.”
Sandra stopped him. “You don’t have to be so polite to them. They aren’t my parents.”
Mike slammed the table and stood up. “You’re so stubborn! We just made a mistake thinking that there was a mix- up between Ivy and you in the hospital. Why do you have to hate us until now? You’ve disappeared for so long. Haven’t you even thought of writing to your family?”
Sandra found a chair farthest from them and sat down. Zachary sat next to her.
“I have had no parents and no home since the moment you recognized Ivy as your daughter. Why are you here since you like Ivy so much?”
Keith sat to the side, but he did not say a single word.
“We weren’t able to contact you, so we could only contact Keith. We learned that you left Keith in the hospital without taking care of him. After all, he was admitted to the hospital for trying to collect the specimen for you,” Irene said.
Mike got angrier after listening to what Irene just said.
