The other children around them were all quite jealous.
“Brenda, your dad is awesome. I want my dad to buy me a lollipop as well.”
I clenched my fists so tightly that my nails dug into the palms of my hands. The pain prevented me from losing my temper.

Chapter 8
Laura only came out of the classroom after James had left with Brenda.
“I’m sorry, Mom. I needed to go to the toilet, so I came out little later than the others.”

“It’s alright.” I didn’t take this matter to heart and then decided to take Laura out for some food.
The little guy didn’t seem to have the appetite. She kept her head lowered and remained silent.
I guessed it was because of Brenda.
When I saw Brenda a while back, she came out of Laura’s classroom.
After arriving home, I asked Laura to stay in the house by herself and went to have a quarrel with James next door.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing, James? Do you think I’m a pushover? I didn’t say anything when you drove my daughter and me out of the house for that true love of yours, but why did you let Brenda transfer to Laura’s class? Are you declaring war on me? Is this revenge because I won’t agree to the divorce?”
James was making food for Brenda. He turned around and looked at me when he heard my voice.
“Nova made the transfer. I didn’t know Laura was at that nursery as well.”
“Oh! You’re a father and you don’t know which nursery your daughter goes to, but you know to bring a lollipop for your true love’s daughter when you pick her up? Are you out of your goddamn mind?” I laughed angrily.
“Catherine, can you not make a scene? Brenda has mental issues, I can’t really just sit back and do nothing, can I? “James said matter–of–factly.
It would make others think that Brenda was her daughter instead of Laura.
I wanted to keep scolding James and even wreck his house, but my chest was hurting too much. The pain made me feel like I was going to die.
