My chest was hurting quite badly, so I stood there for a while before heading inside.
About 20 minutes later, when all the parents and children had arrived, we got onto the coach that had been prearranged and was about to set off.
Sitting in the back, I saw that other children were there with their parents, so my heart ached.
“Dad, I want to have some sandwiches.”
“Dad, I want some water.”
“Dad, I have a tummy ache…”
We just happened to be sitting behind James.
The two of us had a tacit understanding and pretended not to know each other.
Listening to the conversation between Brenda and James, just wished that today’s event would end quickly.

“Fuck!” Rory couldn’t help but curse.
I then reminded her, “You’re a celebrity, even though you’re just an R–list celebrity, you still need to watch your language.”
“I’ve already forced myself not to head over and beat this scumbag up. I’m not going to watch my language with him.” Rory was so angry that she nearly jumped out of her seat.
Laura sat between the two of us with her head lowered and didn’t say anything.
The driver started the coach and was about to set off.
Rory suddenly shouted, “Please wait another couple of minutes, sir. There’s still someone on his way.”
“Okay.” The driver had a good temper and waited as requested.
I gave Rory a puzzled look. I was just about to ask her who was coming when I heard someone knocking on the door. “Please open the door.”
Then, a tall and familiar figure walked onto the coach.
“Chris, over here!”
Rory waved her hand excitedly.
Chris Shaw looked at her and then at me.
I nodded my head whilst wondering when the two of them had gotten together.
“Coming!” Chris smiled at me and then rushed over to Rory
“Come, Laura, sit on my lap.” Rory placed Laura on her lap and allowed Chris to sit on the empty seat.
After Chris sat down, he passed a bag of snacks to Laura.
“I’m sorry, Laura. I came in a hurry and didn’t know what snacks you liked, so I just bought some randomly.” “Thank you, but I’m not hungry.” Laura didn’t know Chris, so she didn’t take the snacks he gave her.
Rory took the bag and looked inside. She found a bag of snacks that she liked and opened it. “You can call him Uncle Chris, baby. He’s your godfather.”
