“Samuel.” Yelena’s voice dragged his thoughts back to the present.
Her eyes no longer carried any hate or indignation, only sadness.
In the past, to exert tight control over Samuel, she did all sorts of bad things and even lost Melea, the only friend who was kind to her.
After she had Samuel promise to marry her, she found that the man she sincerely loved was actually in love with another woman.
She felt lost and helpless.
When she heard their conversation just now, she finally came to a realization.
Samuel did not love anyone; he only cared about himself. The things Yelena did over the past four years were for nothing. It was all trash that was to be thrown away like dirt.
She knew that if her mind was set straight, she should immediately leave Samuel and the Foster family.
But her own family had cut ties with her, and Samuel’s parents did not like her. The only thing she could do was to have a tight hold over Samuel.
So, she squashed down the sadness in her heart and looked at him hopefully. She wanted to hold his hand. ” Samuel, we have a baby who’s about to be born. Can’t we just stay together and be a family?”
But Samuel acted just like Melea did. He did not even look at her and left.
Chapter 23
The last shred of hope in Yelena’s heart faded away.
She knew that it was impossible for her to be with Samuel.
If that was the case, she should just destroy him.
While Melea waited in the airport, she finally saw Solomon rushing over to her.
“Where did you go? Why were you so late?”
With that said, she grabbed his hand, and they boarded the plane. Finally, Solomon regained his breathing and laughed, “I went to see something funny in the hospital just now.”
“What is it?”
“Yelena loved Samuel so much that it turned to hate, and she pushed him down the mountain. He suffered from multiple fractures because of it. Since they didn’t manage to treat him in time, they had to amputate his legs. As for Yelena, she slipped because she didn’t have a solid footing. The baby was stillborn, and she can’t conceive ever again.
“Martha fainted from rage after she heard this, and Francis told the butler to throw them both out once they’re fit to be discharged. He said that they were on their own now.
“But before they even got discharged, they started fighting again, and they fell down the stairs. They’re both
comatose now.
“Are you happy about it?”
He looked at Melea, but she did not care about it.
“It has nothing to do with me. The plane is about to set off. I’m going to sleep now.”
Then, the plane cut through the sky and disappeared behind the clouds.
From that moment on, everything in the Imperial City had nothing to do with her
Melea was going to begin her life anew.
