Chapter 6
“Please don’t go. I just know there won’t be a chance to save our relationship if you go.”
Save our relationship? I found each and every word from his mouth hilarious. I pried him off me finger by finger.
“Why save it? You can now spend all the time you want with her.”
Leonard glanced at his phone when we got into the car. His hands were trembling as he placed them on the steering wheel. He turned his head toward me looking despondent.
“How can anyone be so shameless?”
On the screen were Robyn’s messages.
“Since you’ve found out, I’ve nothing else to say. I just like everything about him, and I can’t stop myself.”
Leonard smashed his hand against the steering wheel. “Fuck! I can’t take this anymore.”
He gave Robyn a call, but the line was busy. Clearly, she had blocked his number. As if he could not hold it in anymore, a tear escaped from the corner of his eye, and his hand flew to wipe it away.
“I’m such a fucking idiot. And here I was trying to convince Mom to start preparing betrothal gifts.”
Only then did I find out that Robyn and my brother were already discussing marriage plans.
“How can she pretend to be such an innocent little kitten in front of me while doing such… Fuck!”
I smiled bitterly, unable to find the right words to console him.
Before all this went down, we had never met such unscrupulous people before. Now, we somehow managed to meet a pair of them in one go.
“No. I need to go see her.” Leonard suddenly started the car his cheeks puffed in anger. “The gold bangle mom gave me is still with her. No way am I going to let her just keep it.”
That bangle was identical to mine. My mother, Tracy, had prepared them in advance for me and my future sister- in–law.
Under the circumstances, I really did not wish to see Robyn, but I did not want Leonard to accidentally do something regrettable while he was in such an enraged state. So, I could only go with him.
The car raced straight over.
When we got to the elevator at the apartment building, I clutched onto my brother’s forearm.
