Quinn and I exchanged a glance, both wearing matching expressions of disgust.
Finally, Quinn stepped forward, pried Henry’s hands off me, and said coldly, “If you truly love Ren, then you’re welcome to compete with me–but only if you’re a free man.”
“Right now, your wife is still in the hospital waiting for you. Go take care of her and stop tarnishing Ren’s reputation by making a scene here.”
With that, Quinn took my hand and led me inside.
Once we were out of earshot, I teased him, “If Henry does get divorced, are you really willing to let me go?”
He backed me against the wall, his lips capturing mine in a possessive kiss.
“Not a chance. That was for show. You’re mine, and don’t you dare forget it.”
When the exam results came out, I was accepted into a university in Brooksville.
Quinn, my parents–in–law, and I discussed it and decided to sell the house and move the entire family to Brooksville.
As we packed, I overheard news that Sadie had asked Henry for a divorce. This time, Henry did not try to stop her, and the two finalized it quickly.
Divorce was considered scandalous in our small town, and gossip swirled about who had cheated.

Chapter 9
One afternoon, while I was out buying groceries, Sadie snuck into my house. With the move underway, the door had been left open.
She went straight to the second floor, where Quinn was organizing his books.
When he turned around, he froze, stunned to see Sadie lying completely naked on the bed.
“What the hell are you doing? Are you insane? Put your clothes back on!” he shouted, clearly appalled.
Sadie was unfazed, and she stood and began walking toward him with deliberate steps.
“Honey… I know you came back too. I was wrong in our past life. I shouldn’t have ignored you,” she said softly.
She had gone out of her way to style her hair and apply makeup. Convinced her figure was superior to mine, she moved closer with a seductive smile, her gaze brimming with allure.
In her mind, all men could be won over with enough charm and attention. This was how she had lured Henry away in our past lives, flaunting herself shamelessly under my nose. Surely this dull professor would be no different.
However, she underestimated Quinn’s pride and sense of morality as a man.
His face darkened, and he bolted out of the room without another word. He raced down the stairs, and ran straight into the street.
There, he shouted at the top of his lungs, “Whose old sow got loose and ended up in my house? Come and claim her now!”
