Chapter 11
Perhaps… Alyssa had long since discovered his affair.
This thought flashed through Stefan’s mind.
He had believed he hid it well, and he could juggle both Alyssa and Juliette. He thought he was careful, that Juliette was just a fling who would never be worthy of being seen in public with him. He thought that Alyssa would never know about him and Juliette.
Alas, Alyssa still found out the truth.
But when did she find out?
She had been so ruthless by filing for divorce and vanishing completely from his life.
Stefan’s eyes grew wet as tears blurred his vision.
At that moment, Stelan suddenly remembered the words Alyssa had said when she accepted his proposal.
“Stefan, from now on, I will do my best as your wife. But there’s one thing you must remember–I will not tolerate lies. If you deceive me, I will disappear from your life forever.”

Back then, Stefan had been so confident that he would never do anything to hurt her. After all, he loved Alyssa so deeply. The idea of deceiving her seemed impossible.
He had been willing to bare his heart completely, to lay it out for her to see.
But when did things start to change?
Was it the constant coaxing from his friends?
Was it the monotony of married life?
Or was it the endless swarm of temptations that never seemed to stop pursuing him?
Gradually, Stefan had long since lost the sincerity he once had. He had drifted along with the tide, succumbing to the allure of excitement and falling for Juliette’s cheap tricks.
The endless persuasion of his friends, combined with Alyssa’s ignorance and her continued kindness, created an illusion of a dream he became trapped
in
He had arrogantly believed he could keep everything firmly under control. What he forgot was that Alyssa had never been the type to endure mistreatment silently.
Her parents were a prime example.
Alyssa didn’t want to repeat her parents” mistakes.
Initially, her parents had struggled bitterly for the sake of their child. In the end, they only became enemies. Their once–tender love for their daughter eroded under the weight of endless conflict.
Eventually, they even grew to despise Alyssa. They treated her with cold contempt whenever they saw her.
Having witnessed all this, Alyssa knew she could never tolerate such a fate indefinitely. She had her pride. When a heart was completely shattered, it could never be mended.
Rather than following in her parents‘ footsteps and becoming a pair of feuding lovers, she chose to leave early.
Alyssa knew Stefan well. She knew that it he discovered her intent to divorce and leave, he would never allow her to go. He would stop at nothing to keep her, using every means at his disposal to force her to stay.
So, Alyssa left everything behind. Her home country Hoagurt, her past, and her entire identity. She vanished completely, erasing herself from Stefan’s
World.
Once Stelan realized all of this, a wave of unrelenting bitterness surged within him.
“No, Lyssa.. I won’t let you go!”
