Chapter 16
But Stefan had no intention of giving Juliette that chance.
He had already done many things to hurt Alyssa. If he wanted to salvage things with her, he could never allow the child to live. If the child was born, it would become even harder for him and Alyssa to reconcile.
Stefan steeled himself and instructed the bodyguards to drag Juliette to the hospital
Juliette struggled and resisted countless times, but she couldn’t overpower the bodyguards and was eventually laid on the cold operating table.
As the anesthetic was injected, she gradually lost control of her limbs, and her eyes closed against her control
When she woke up again, her stomach was flat. There was nothing where there used to be a child. The pain in her abdomen pulled at her, and even moving was extremely difficult.
Juliette had lost her child.
She lay in despair on the hospital bed, while the bodyguards stood by, watching her to ensure she would apologize to Alyssa
Soon after, Stefan saw the apology video Juliette had posted online. The corners of his lips pulled upward grimly, but he couldn’t bring himself to truly
smile.
What good was an apology? It could never bring Alyssa back
He still hadn’t found any trace of her. It was as if she had vanished into thin air, like she had never existed.
If it weren’t for the traces of her existence still remaining online, Stefan would almost believe that she had been just a dream.
“Maybe things wouldn’t have ended up like this if I hadn’t gone to see Juliette the day Lyssa left. If only I had stayed true to myself and not been seduced by Juliette. If only.
Stefan sat in the private room of the bar, drinking bottle after bottle of alcohol in frustration. He had lost track of how long it had been since he had slept well.
The scent of Alyssa in the house was growing fainter and fainter, to the point where he could hardly stay there anymore.
Yet, despite drinking countless bottles, he didn’t feel drunk; instead, he felt more awake.
He was painfully aware that Alyssa was no longer by his side.
Stefan held the bottle and let out a bitter laugh. “Lyssa, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be drinking. I know you hated the smell of alcohol on me… Can you please come and scold me? If you just appear in front of me, I promise I won’t drink anymore.”
He threw a tantrum like a child.
When a few of his friends heard Stefan was in the bar, they called over a group of young, beautiful women.
“Ladies, whoever can calm Mr. Splenstone down will be guaranteed a future with wealth and success,” the man in the maroon shirt whispered.
The ten women nodded, entering one by one and quickly finding spots near Stefan to sit.
“Mr. Splen
“Mr. Splenstone..” A strikingly beautiful woman sat on Stefan’s left, her slender fingers slithering like snakes, skillfully trying to slip under his shirt. “Fuck off!” Stefan’s face darkened with rage, and he immediately grabbed a bottle, smashing it over the woman’s head. Blood gushed out in an instant.
The woman screamed, but Stefan, irritated, kicked her. “How dare you do that? You disgusting woman. Get out!”
In an instant, all the women in the room scattered like frightened birds, fleeing as quickly as they could. Not one of them dared to stay.
After all, it was better to be touched outside than to be beaten bloody here and get nothing in return.
Agitation marred Stefan’s face. He pinched the bridge of his nose before opening another bottle and drinking straight from it.
His friends exchanged glances, sighing one after another.
