The smell filled my nostrils as soon as I got inside Aiden’s car, a midnight blue Maserati Rich leather, musk, spice. If there ever existed something as the smell of luxury, this was what I would have imagined it to be like.
I stole a glance at Aiden, probably to figure out his current mood. It was basically pointless. He was the definition of calm and composed. That kind of made him all the more scary. You can’t predict from their face what’s coming your way.
Throughout that whole conversation back at the bakery, not once did I see him raising his voice or show any sign of aggression. Clenched jaws. deep exhales, those were his maximum canburst of frustration.

But for some reason I didn’t feel the protective urge, as ift already knew he wasn’t a danger. It was absurd since I had only his words to back up my faith.
