“How did you get hurt?” The Elt doctor asked, feeling along her spine. Despite knowing that it was to check for internal injuries, I didn’t like another man touching her like that. I was probably unhinged to feel jealous over a checkup but that’s exactly how fucked up my bead was whenever Freya was concerned.
So it wasn’t hard to imagine only how much worse it was when I saw her hurt, I wanted to tear that fucking bastard from limb to timb and make a meal out of him for the stray dogs.
My eyes moved towards Gia who sat beside her mother, looking ready to burst into tears any moment. She looked so small and scared punched me right in the gut. It made me want to find that bastard in the middle of the night and hand deliver his punishment.
I forced a deep breath to keep my impulses down for the moment and not storm out in make good on my intentions. Those plans weren’t off, just held off for the momeil…….

1 fell” Freya muttered and sole a glance at me from the corner of her eyes. Even though I didn’s q preferred it that way.
Handing him over to police just like that would be an easy way out for him. I would be the one dishing nut punishment to him. When I would be done with him, he would wish we had never crossed paths.
“You fell“The doctor stared at Freya with a calculative stare. He exchanged a look with the nurse before focussing bark on Freya. I could sense how this looked from their perspective.
“You can talk to me. If you want some privacy.” He trailed off, waiting for her to make a decision. He insinuated that I hit her and offered her privacy to ask for help. The nurse standing by his side shot me a nasty glare. I cassed a brow at her, not amused in the least
“Oh, no! It’s not what you’re thinking. He didn’t abuse me or anything” Freya rushed to explain which wasn’t of much help. She still sounded guilty. The doctor still looked suspicious as he reluctantly nodded.
“Okay. Well, would you mind raking your coat off?”
“Sure.” The moment she took the coat off, I sulled Angry red bruises on both of wrists and right upper arm glared right back at me. I clenched my jaws, a fresh surge of fury washing over me.
“You do know that you don’t have to be afraid, right? I can help you” He stared at her with utmost seriousness like lie was sonte sort of a hero who would scoop her right out of my abusive hands. In case of anyone else, I would’ve appreciated his concern but the fact that he was accusing me wasn’t helping
“I wouldn’t hit her, for God’s sake” I gritted those words out. I have never hun a woman in my life. I wasn’t planning on starting anytime soon
“That’s what every abusive partner says.” He threw those words at me without sparing a glance. I clenched my jaws, annoyed at how conveniently he was assuming and more irritated that we were discussing all these in front of my daughter who already looked afraid.
Freya cleared her throat, “Dr. Garcia, I appreciate your concern. Her eyes found mine before going back to the doctor’s. “Actually you’re right. I didn’t just fall. But it’s not him.”
Both the nurse and the doctor looked a little stunned at the confession. Probably they were not used to victims confessing without enough probing.
it was the fact that their assumptions were wrong. Even though I doubted they believed her completely.
They nodded, reluctantly. “Well, whoever it is, you should le a complaint”
“I will.” Liar. Freya would do no such thing. I could snif that lie from a mile away. The doctor nodded, letting it go..

“No.” If that didn’t sound relieving, I don’t know what did.
“You seem fine except for a small concussion. Just get plenty of rest. And use the painkillers if you need them.”
Freya pulled her coat up and stood up.
“Thank you, doctor” She smiled at him in politely. I packed Cia up who readily snuggled into me. She was grabbing all the comfort she could and I was glad that the trusted the enough to seek it from me
