Chapter 29
AIDEN
I stopped the car outside the warehouse. It’s thirty minutes away from
away from the office. This is where less lawful activities were reserved for
I had preferred a satellite office. It was Cillian who had insisted on this warehouse. Said it gave him the feel
“Ah, finally!” Cillian exclaimed, discarding the cigarette. He was standing right outside the building. He looked as impatient as he sounded.
Cillian didn’t personally know Freya but much like me he despised men who hit women. That lowlife raising hands on Freya was enough reason him to look forward to this meeting
I gestured with my head to lead the way. In the middle of the last aisle was our guest seated. His hands were tied behind his hack and the legs to the chair
His frantic eyes landed on us before they widened.
“Hey, buddy!” Cillian grinned but his tone was anything but friendly. Noaleur him a nervous glance before pulling them back to me.

“I didn’t think we were gonna meet so soon I muttered, lowering myself to a chair facing him. He squirmed in his sea
“L–look man, I did what you asked me to. What more do you want now?” He tried to sound confident but the fear bled through each syllable he uttered.
“You did what I asked you, huh?” I used the heel of my palm to rub along my jawline. “So, was it me who asked you to hit Freya?”
“I–I–It was an accident.” He stammered, pure panic etching his face. Fucking har! The corners of my mouth nited up in a humorless smile.
“Was it now?”
“Yes, I swea–AHHH” Noah’s loud scream filled the space as Cillian rammed his knife in his thigh,
-You
saying” He prompted Noah, a dangerous smile stretching his lips.
“Fuck you!” Noah spat in the midst of sucking in deep breaths through his mouth. His eyebrows were drawn low in agony.
Cillian isked, parting him on the cheek. “Nah, you’re not my type.
“Let’s chat a little, shall we?” I stood up and shrugged off any suit jacket all the while keeping my eyes on Noah.
“Let me go.” Barely a mumble. He looked this close to peeing in his pants.
I walked towards him and grabbed the back of his chair. That alone made him tremble like a child. Fucking pathetic!
“Why did you hit Freya?”
He wetted his lips nervously before stuttering out yet another lie.
“I didn’t. She tripped and hit her head on the wall
He had hardly completed the sentence when I punched him across the face. That sick noise of his bone cracking under my first filled me with nothing but need to deliver more. I was there to make it hurt. There was nothing or no one stopping me.
“Fuck!” Noah cried out, his eyes pinching shut from the pain.
I grasped the front of his shirt and tugged him forward. “Answer me.
“I told you I didn’t hit her-” His head swiveled to the side from the impact of the second hit,
“Man, I swear-” [le didn’t get to finish before another blow landed. I kept hitting him without waiting for him to open his mouth. My vision was clouded with red, the thin thread of patience had supped.
The rage inside me didn’t lessen with every hit, Instead it increased manifold till I was drowning in the urge to snuff the life out of him.
“Brother.”
Callian’s voice cut through the haze of red. I stopped and stared at Noah. His face was a bloody mess. I released his shirt and took a step back.

“Thappen to hate lies. So why don’t we start again! And this time you tell me the fucking truth.”
He spat our blood on the floor, grunting in pain.
“Why did you hit Freya?”
“I was jealous.” Noah admitted, glaring at me as if that was enough explanation for raising hands on her
“Speak!” Cillian stepped on Noah’s roes and pressed down on it, making him whimper
“She was so fucking happy to break up with me. I had loved her all this time and the second you walk in, that bitch kicks me to the curb.”
My fist tightened as 1 fought the urge to take another swing at his face. He had the fucking audacity to disrespect the woman of my dreams right in
front of me.
“Never too late, huht
aht Maybe she ultimately realized you weren’t worth her ume” Gillian grinned, enjoying how his face twisted in anger.
“She is a money digging whore?” He sneered. I put my palm on the knife bedded in his thigh and pressed down, making him immediately howl in pain
“Repeat that, I dare you.”
“You two are psychos. I’m gonna call the cops the second I’m out of here.” He croaked in between labored breaths..
Great! He wasn’t just plain stupid. He was brain–dead who assumed that threatening his potential kidnappers with a cop was an excellent idea. As if that wouldn’t cancel out whatever slim chance he had of making it out alive.
Cillian whistled in a mocking tone. “Bold of you to assume that you’re getting out There alive.”
That was probably the fastest Fhad seen someone switch expressions. He went from looking angry and vengeful to looking pathetically close to crying out of sheer panic all within two seconds.
P–please just le–let me go. I’m s–sorry! I have my family. My mother, She–she’s sick.”
His tears made me wanna kick him in the nuts.
“Mother? You mean the one you never visit?”
The records show that the last visitor she had was eight months ago. He was using his mother as an excuse while he saw her as a mere responsibility.
“Please, man! Let me
me go. All these over some pussy. I swear-
My fist connected with his face, knocking out teeth in the process. At the moment I wanted nothing more than to wrap my hands around his neck and watch as life drained out of his eyes.
Only there was a problem. A green–eyed pretty blonde.
I knew she wouldn’t appreciate me killing this fucker off. We weren’t in the stage where I could just tie her to my bed and fuck her till she would let go of her anger, Killing Noah would push her right out of my house and life and that’s a risk I couldn’t take.
“Now listen carefully I paired his bruised cheek, causing him to hiss in pain. “You’ll forget all about Freya and our daughter. You don’t come near them, you don’t think about them. My men will keep an eye on you. If I find you within an even hundred meter radius of them, you’ll wish our next meeting to be this peaceful. Do I make myself cleart”
He nodded, relief in his eyes. Noah was relieved to be living another day and that alone made me want to end him. He didn’t deserve fucking relieve but I knew it wouldn’t go down well with Freya,
“Oh and you’re fired.” He stared at him, a fresh surge of distress in his eyes. “Mr. Rigera’s bills will be taken care off but you can starve to death for
all I care.
“Aren’t you
n’t you worried that I’ll go to
ed that I’ll go to the po
police?”
Callian chuckled. “Aren’t you the brighteu?”
Sure he could go to the police but they wouldn’t give two flying fucks. But Noah’s sense of self preservation was non–existent.
1 uilted my head to the side and looked at him. “You want me to kill you!”
His eyes widened as he shook his head. “No! No! Tim sorry! I’ll shut up”

Chapter 29
We stood outside the building while our men were at it. Noah was going to be escorted back blindfolded, like he was brought in. If the last of the few brain cells he had left worked in his favor, he would lick his wounds and sweep it under the rug
It didn’t matter either way. He could go knocking at anyone’s door and still would not be able to touch a hair on my head. Money and connections. plenty of both and one could go a long way.
Cillun whipped out a cigarette from his pocket. “Now that the problem is, well scared to death, when is the family meeting?”
“Not now.” I stated. Cillian had been at it for the last few weeks. He keeps asking to meet Freya and Gia. I was convinced he did that for the fun of it, because he enjoyed sering me worked up. That’s only how his curiosity made any sense, given his emotional quotient.
His only weak spot was mother. That’s solely why I hadn’t tried making him see her from my perspective. To him, my cold behavior towards my mother was displaced aggression
That however, wouldn’t bother me much till he would start advocating for the occasional family dinners. If it was on me, I would have shut that door long back. The only thing holding me back was Gillian.
“How is Freya!” He took a long drag before holding the cigarette out to me. I took it. I didn’t smoke, not regularly. But today my senses welcomed the smell of tobacco
“Beating herself up over everything I looked ahead into the distance.
Cillian took the cigarette back from my outstretched hand. He nodded “Guilt can be overwhelming
I snorted. “Like you know anything abourat
He chuckled, has shoulder lifting in a nonchalani shrug.
“A pretty useless emotion. Just like the rest of them”
