Chapter 45
Farya
The ride back has been dead silent. I knew going there was just plain stupidity. Then why the fuck did I That’s a good question. Became Let Fr and Cillian talk, me into it. Fucking stupid! Had I not caved, Gia and Freya would have been spared the humiliation today.
As of the moment, I stood by the door of my daughter’s bedroom, hidden from her view, while Freya got her ready for bed.
“Mommy!” She called once she was tucked in.
“Yes, sweetie!”
Will Daddy really marry that woman?” She sounded so fucking sand. All because of him. I should’ve just slammed my father’s head into the table the second the word of marriage left his mouth.
Freya sighed before sitting back donen beside her. “I don’t know, baby. Maybe he will”
The fuck I will! What would I have to do to get it through this woman’s head that Tam not interested in anyone else?
Tell her. My mind taunted me. That was probably right. I had given her space, I had given her comfort, Lharked the fuck off bait now I would have
to give her the truth.
“But he promised. He promised we’re gonna be a family. He promised met Chi’s voice came out wobbly like she was on the verge of crying. My little princess. She was hurting. But not for long.
Tell him not to. Mommy, please tell him not to marry her
“Well talk about this tomorrow, okay! Now it’s time for bed. Come on” Just as Freya stood up, Gia’s hand reached out to grab her. She sniffled.
“Sweetheart, stop crying. Everything’s gonna be time, okay! Go to sleep. It took another fifteen minutes of coaxing and soothing for her to finally fall asleep. Placing one final kiss against her forehead, Freya turniril the lights off before walking our.
Her eyes hardened the second they fell on me.
“You are gonna fix this. You messed it up.” She grinted before she was on her way.
1 followed her to her room. “I messed it up!” For the love of God, what the buck was my fault? Yeah, taking them to meet my family was my fault but she had insisted. That’s why I knew she wasn’t talking about it. I couldn’t figure out what else it was.
She abrut
abruptly turned around and looked at me incredulously. “You are asking
“Yes! I am asking. What the hell did I do!”
Freya scoffed before shaking her head dismissively. “You know what? I don’t- I don’t care. Gaa’s a child. She will get over it She darted to the closer and didn’t come out until after a few minutes.
I froze when she emerged from the closet with a bag. The muscles in my back went absolutely rigid as I watched her grab her charger from the nightstand
that I didn’t fe
feel.
“What are you doing?” My voice held a calm that I
“Parking a bag.” She threw over her shoulder, not bothering to look back.
“I can see that. Why the hell are you packing a bag?”
“I stay with Reyna fa
for a few days while I figure out the rest“) inhaled sharply. The fuck she would!
“You’re not moving out” I stated. She stilled for a second and turned her head to glare at me.
“Lam” She gritted out larfore going back to parking. “I should have moved out a long time back. But better late than never. At least I won’t be the gold digger that ruins your marriage with your girlfriend or whatever.”
“Freya, stop” Istrode over to larr and held her forearm. She shoved my hand away until I grabbed both her wrists and turned her amand.
“Just stop damn it!”
She did atop leat if a look had that power, I would have been six feet under. She yanked her hands fire f

Freya walked to the window and back, obvious frustration pouring out through her every movement. You lied to her.”
“You gave
Gia hope where there wasn’t any
“I never lied to her. And I sure as hell never gave her any false hope.” At this poin fingers at me without giving me the benefit of doubt,

voice. She was pointing
“You fucking painted this picture of a happy family! And you’re so good that anyone would believe it. You gave her this idea of us being together when clearly you have a girlfriend!” Her accusatory gaze burned into me, carving a painful path to my chest.
I shut my eyes and breathed out. “I don’t have a girlfriend”
Freya chuckled and it was devoid of any actual humor. “Oh! That’s definitely not what I heard.”
“Erica is not my girlfriend
“Yeah, whatever.” She shook her head in a clear dismissive manner and it struck me. She seemed awfully upset and for not the reason she was trying to show.
“What are you really angry about, huh?” I walked closer causing her to take a step back. “What are you doing?” She mutiered cautiously, as she continued moving backwards. We continued this till she was all but backed up against the wall and I was invading her space
“Tell me what makes you so angry? That I promised Gia something I do actually intend to keep or the fact that you think I have a girlfriend?”
Freya’s chest rose and fell, her eyes blazing with defiance. She took a sharp breath.
I don’t I don’t care if you have a girlfriend! Why should I? That’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!” It sounded defensive and fake, very fake. That told me I had caught her where I was supposed to. She was jealous of Erica, she hated that I supposedly had a girlfriend.
Strange satisfaction filled my chest at the feeling. The sense of achievement was even stronger than every time I had crossed an important. milestone in my life.
Freya was more important than every other remarkable moment of my life.
I placed my palm against the wall, effectively caging her. 1 closed in on her till the familiar bittersweet smell of coffee was assaulting my senses, till I could look at the flecks of blue in the green orbs, till everything else just faded away. She was beautiful, even up close, she was absolutely the most gorgeous woman I had ever come across.
The proximity affected Freya, I could see that by the way her eyes had lost some of that anger, replaced by lust.
“You don’t care!” I rasped, my eyes tracing her delicate throat working down a hard swallow. I watched as her tongue darted out to wet her lips.
“No.” She said but her voice hardly held any conviction. She probably didn’t even believe herself but she was too stubborn to admit the truth.
There was a crease in her forehead and she parted her lips, probably to spit out another lie in defense. But before she could, I brought my mouth down upon hers
