Chapter 10
I ran for a long time before I dared to stop and catch my breath.
Celeste still didn’t forget to hold the phone and film. “Is Bernard a ghost? You ran so fast both times you saw him.”
“If I hadn’t run, I would be noticed and attacked by his angry fans. Moreover, It wouldn’t be good to ruin the release of his new game. He worked very hard on it.”
Just as the words came out, a familiar voice suddenly sounded. “Elisa, it’s indeed you.”
I immediately got scared and stood up straight.
I hurriedly turned my back to him.
But Bernard strode forward and turned me around.
Bernard saw my terrified expression and haggard appearance, which made his eyebrows furrow.
Celeste took a few steps back and focused the camera on us.
“Well, it’s karma. Now you have become so pathetic.”
He pinched my chin and looked down at me.
“It seems that the man who made you betray our seven–year relationship isn’t treating you well.”
After saying that, he shook me off.
He took out a handkerchief and wiped his hand with disgust.
“In the future, I might frequently appear on various TV shows. If you wanna see me, you can come and watch openly.
“After all, you are no different to me than any stray cat or dog on the roadside.”
The cats and dogs by the roadside?
My heartache was about to tear me apart.
But I couldn’t show any of my feelings, so I just nodded slightly.
But Celeste couldn’t help it.
She approached with the phone, the camera focused on Bernard’s face. “Really?”
He looked at Celeste and answered without hesitation, “Of course.”
Then he turned around and said to me, “I have to thank you, Elisa.”
I was stunned and looked up in confusion.
“If not for you, I wouldn’t have known the disgusting nature of humanity, and I wouldn’t have met Sierra, the love of my life.”
He smiled, but his words were cruel. “Thank you for abandoning me.”
“It wasn’t like that!”
The moment Celeste opened her mouth, I knew what she wanted to say.
I quickly covered her mouth.
“I see. I wish you and Ms. Gilbert a lifetime of happiness together.”
Celeste struggled and tried to make a sound.
I forcefully dragged her away under Bernard’s complicated gaze,
Just as I had walked a short distance, I heard Sierra’s voice from behind. “Bernard, is that Elisa?”
His voice was cold “No Just a stranger.”
