Chapter 9
“What my choice, your choice, my choice has always been you.”
Malcolm explained palely, as if as long as he pretended to be foolish, I would definitely follow the steps he gave.
I took off the ring and casually threw it onto him.
The ring slipped off his body and fell to the ground.
Malcolm didn’t care about it and instead stubbornly argued with me.
“Isn’t it just a ring? Ashley also has one. Stop being so narrow–minded. Can’t I just buy you a bigger one?”
In his mind, as long as I was not happy, it meant that the money was not enough.
I was just a woman who loved money more than anything. I sarcastically curled the corners of my mouth.
“Don’t grovel like a dog, Malcolm. This isn’t like you. Let’s part ways amicably.”
I didn’t want to waste any more words with him, so I turned around and walked away.
The steps had not been sold yet when he pulled them back.
“Don’t you even want to talk to me now?”
Impatiently, I glanced at my watch and said, “What’s the matter? Hurry up and tell me, I still have to study.”
Malcolm quickly realized, “Studying? Are you going to take the postgraduate entrance examination? Didn’t you promise me that you wouldn’t take it?”
I said lightly, “We don’t have any relationship now, whether you take the exam or not is none of your business.”
Malcolm clearly didn’t pay attention to what I said.
He stared at me suspiciously and asked, “Was it because of that person named Zander? When did you two get together?”
“I said why you were becoming more and more indifferent towards me, it was because of him that we broke up, right?”
Malcolm’s face turned red with jealousy.
But he suppressed his anger and looked at me pleadingly.
“I will keep my distance from Ashley in the future. I also know that sometimes I went too far, but I will change.”
No matter how well he says it, I know in my heart that he couldn’t.
In order to confirm my point, I extended my hand slowly and said, “Let me see your phone.”
Malcolm hesitated for two seconds, then handed it to me.
Before I could unlock it, he couldn’t wait to please me and said, “I changed the password to your birthday.”
I didn’t say anything as I slowly slid under his intense gaze.
I only played along and held up my phone with a half–smile, saying, “You deleted the chat history, but you forgot to change the pinned contacts.”
Malcolm’s face instantly paled.
I casually flipped through and found his written memo.
Ashley, born on June 3rd, doesn’t like spicy food and shrimp, and dislikes snacks with tomato flavor. She likes diamonds and dolls, and experiences menstrual cramps two days before her period, so prepare hot cocoa for her.
Before I could finish speaking, Malcolm embarrassingly snatched the phone back.
“These things were already in existence before I met you, so if you don’t like them, you can just tell me.”
I found it a bit funny. “Didn’t I say it before?”
