Chapter 8
The seventh diary of farewell to the world.
March 24, 2024.
I took a selfie with my phone.
“Hello, today is March 24th, 2024. We ran into an old acquaintance…”
It was not a chance encounter. I waited there for three days in order to meet Jared Ponce.
“How … has he been recently? I wanna see him.”
My request was rejected by Jared as soon as it was spoken.
“I’ll just take a quick glance. I beg you.”
“Elisa, you really went too far with this matter. We are all from the same orphanage, and I don’t wanna show favoritism. It’s just that you dumped him so ruthlessly, and now he has finally managed to improve his life. Please don’t…”
I nodded hurriedly in agreement.
“I know, Jared. I just wanna quietly take one last look at him.”
Hearing my words, he looked at me strangely.
I made a joke to avert his attention.
I was led into the house and hidden behind the living room curtains.
Bernard had not returned yet, so I whispered before the camera, “I came to Bernard’s house. We rented it when we were still in love, and he bought it after he became rich.
“In the past, because Bernard loved to sleep in, Jared secretly copied our keys to urge him to write code. He would come to our door every day to wake Bernard up and take him to work.
“Jared said he had been living here recently and would be back soon.”
I focused the camera on the gate while speaking.
Jared went straight to the study because he still had work to deal with.
After a while, the door was opened.
Bernard appeared in the frame.
When he moved, I saw that there was a huge object covered in red cloth in the hall.
He reached out and pulled the cloth off.
I quickly covered my mouth and swallowed my surprise.
That was
mannequin.
The mannequin wore a very unique wedding dress.
Wedding dresses were usually white, but this wedding dress had a colorful train, spread out like a blooming flower.
This was the design draft I drew before. I said that I would wear this when I got married to him.
But we had already broken up, so why did he still make this wedding dress?
He raised his hand and gently touched the wedding dress.
Then, he impatiently messed up the train of the dress.
With his back to the camera, he fell to the ground and remained motionless for a long time.
Then a clear sob sounded, and his trembling shoulders indicated he was crying
I tightly covered my mouth, gritted my teeth, and desperately forced back the tears.
I was mentally prepared before coming

I had thought I would see Bernard and Sierra sweetly coming home together and canoodling.
I had never expected to see this scene.
It was about time. Jared came out and sent Bernard away.
te
He looked at my reddened eyes, with a very complex expression.
“Elisa, I really can’t understand you. You clearly are not vain, so why did you abandon Bernard? Do you know how difficult these days have been for him? He almost couldn’t bear to live several times.”
I imitated the expression of the malicious supporting female roles I had seen in TV dramas and said, “Jared, you really don’t know me well.
“Who doesn’t love money in this world? In the past, I didn’t have a choice, but now that I have better options, I definitely have to think about myself.”
Jared was angered and asked me to leave.
The door was slammed shut behind me.
Tears in my eyes could finally slide freely.
“I’m sorry, Bernard. Hate me, please. The more you hate me, the better. Just don’t love me anymore.”
