After that day, Henry’s only prayer was for Alex and Kaylee’s relationship to work out for them to date, marry, and live happily ever after. If that day came, he’d give them the biggest wedding gift ever, even if he wasn’t invited. Not for their sake, but in hopes that William’s love struck brain wouldn’t be awakened again.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.
Just as Henry’s mind wandered, William asked from his desk, “How’s the investigation into the bar incident going?”
That night William was injured, Henry had invited him to dinner. Their car suddenly got a flat tire, and two vans surrounded them trying to kidnap William. He was injured the fight and had to take shelter in a crowded bar nearby.
“We’ve tried everything. Those guys truly knew nothing. The money trail went overseas and disappeared. The most suspicious was that curly–haired man on the security footage – might’ve been wearing a wig. No other cameras caught him,” Henry reported everything he’d found.
To show he’d been thorough, he added, “The footage also showed your nephew spending an hour in a private room upstairs with Lucy that night. Real piece of work, that one.”
Henry dated around, but he had principles – one girlfriend at a time, no cheating.

“They did at first. The engagement might have been canceled, but Alex did something stupid yesterday. No one’s on his side anymore,” William set down his pen and gazed out the floor–to–ceiling window. “This marriage has to happen now.”
Henry was about to ask what happened, but one look from his boss made him shut up.
Instead, he criticized Alex, “Well, Alex was always a brainless idiot, full of himself. Without you, the Morgans would be nothing!”
William called his secretary in for some documents. As she was leaving with them, he added, “Also, schedule employee health checks next month at Honor Medical. Make sure everyone goes at different times.”
After she left, Henry couldn’t help commenting, “Boss, your intentions are pretty obvious.”
“Yes. I moved too slowly last time. Won’t make that mistake again,” William admitted.
Henry realized his boss approached love just like business opportunities – seizing the moment without hesitation. Like how he immediately arranged Alex and Summer’s engagement right after catching Alex cheating. 1
The next day, Kaylee started moving. She didn’t have much mostly medical textbooks.
It was her first time living alone. She’d thought cleaning and basic organizing would be enough, but she soon discovered how many things she needed to buy – not just bedding, but mops, brooms, cups, cleaning cloths, and all sorts of household items.
On Sunday, she went shopping with Wendy, armed with a long list.
Once they’d bought most everything, Wendy offered to have her driver deliver it all to her place.
