Even though Tessa knew Jacob was deliberately trying to win her over, she couldn’t resist. It was easy to stay cold toward him in his human form, but when faced with a talking, affectionate white wolf, her resolve crumbled.
Surrendering to temptation, she wrapped her arms tighter around the arctic wolf’s head, nuzzling into the soft fur.

The seasoning followed a secret recipe she had perfected over time, ensuring every bite was bursting with umami.
Though the HoloCore could replicate scents, it couldn’t reproduce the taste–leaving the audience to salivate helplessly as they watched Tessa hand Alexander and Jacob a bun each.
Alexander and Jacob both bit into their buns without hesitation. The moment the hot juice burst into their mouths, they forgot all about maintaining their dignity and savored the rich, savory flavor. Unfortunately, the buns were too small for their appetites–gone in just a few bites. Both looked faintly embarrassed until Tessa, laughing softly, handed them another bun each.
“Go ahead–eat as much as you like,” she said with a smile, her eyes curving into crescents.
